Hi everyone!

Hi there. Well I've been away for 7 weeks touring Europe but unfortunately I had to come home! Anyway, just my luck, the third (and last) link of my mini powerchain broke on my first day overseas nothing I could do about it but that meant 2 months (since I last visited ortho) with a broken lig..not ...

broken lig..help!

Well I've had my braces for a little over 6 months and have had pretty much no trouble. However, tonight I went out to dinner with friends, BEFORE we had even ordered our food I felt something loosen on my braces and put my finger on it and a ligature felt very loose and then..it just came out! It h...

I'm with you

I too have not been told whether or not I need headgear (and naturally am too scared to ask). What concerns me is I have headgear..hmm can't think of the word..holes on my braces (ok where they would go if I had them!). So that worries me but I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it!

Yep I have to admit I floss after brushing also.

Now a braces wearer probably shouldn't be asking this but what do you all mean by an interdental brush??

thanks!

Hey THanks everyone for your replies. I agree with all of you! My co-workers daughter who is 14 (I'm 23) has braces and we also share the same orthodontist and amazingly get our adjustments at the same time, and I don't ever think about it being weird or anything, it's just the way things are at the...

simple question - complicated answer...

I'd like to know how you all feel when you come face to face with someone else (a stranger) who is wearing braces. Whether they are younger or older then you, how does it make you feel? I am yet to decide how I feel, I don't feel embarrassed or uncomfortable but there is deinitely some sort of feeli...

when to floss

I recently read in a magazine article that it's best to floss BEFORE brushing your teeth so when you brush your toothpaste goodness can also get between your teeth. Makes sense of course but what do you all think? http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;51;133/st/20051214/e/i+got+braces/dt/12/k/2fb...

Yay!

Congrats on the new braces! As we all know it is going to be worth it, and they really are not that bad AT ALL to have. Yes there are your bad days, but they are (for me anyway) far and few between (touch wood!). What I'm trying to say is it's ALL good!! By the way I'm from west. oz! :D http://ticke...

you'll be fine

Firstly congrats on taking the plunge, it's going to be so worth it! I have to admit that when I first saw myself in braces I was horrified, I absolutely hated them and sulked for several days but I soon saw the changes happening and also got so used to them I would forget they were even here. Now, ...

loong story!

Since I started getting adult teeth they were crooked mainly because my other baby teeth wouldn't fall out so they had nowehere to go. It was a mess. By the time I was about 13 I'd had 12 baby teeth pulled out. It helped my top teeth tremendously and they were almost perfect. My bottom teeth were st...

my reason

Mine was mainly health reasons, I have/had a bad overbite and my bottom teeth were/are quite crowded in the middle. So a bad bite must mean bad chewing which in turn means bad digestion. And surprisingly my crowded teeth hurt before I even got braces. They kind of ached all the time, just plain unco...

Don't worry my first adjustment was...well a "tinker under the hood" nothing got changed he just screwed this pullled that then that was it. I was quite shocked but on my last one everything was changed. My third adjustment is soon and I am guessing everything will be changed again. http:/...

Hi all Been reading all the "do-dads" that you all use and well I am confused! First of all what is a waterpik and is it necessary to have one? I think I clean my braces pretty well, my teeth look much cleaner since I first got them I think from purchasing an electric toothbrush ( don't th...
