Hi Samantha ! These loops on my archwire are there for closing the gaps. I also need to move my canines in a specific way, that is why I have four loops instead of two. I'm still annoyed at these things but I'm slowly getting used to them. I ended up getting used to the buttons and sharp molar cleat...

Thank you KK for your kind words. I'm feeling better today, as I'm learning to live with these new friends of mine. I think I will name them soon. :D That way I can laugh about the things the lovely loops make me go through instead of crying out loud! Salt water rinses are really good, I use them wh...

This looped archwire is killing me
I was so happy on my last adjustment...the new retracting archwire was finally placed! That meant that my teeth moved and aligned enough for this new archwire and now it would start closing the gaps. I was so happy...and then I felt and saw the loops. I'm still thinking that I won't be able to get u...

Spacers, spacers, spacers for me for sure! Metal spacers are the worst! I'm wearing a powerchain right now and I can barely feel it. The pain is relative to the people too, but I'm guessing the most painful thing for many of us braced people are the darn spacers... KK: you are so lucky that you don'...

My future profile with a little help from Photoshop Hehe. I really needed to boost my confidence a little so I wanted to place two comparisons here, one real, the other imaginary, created with the help of my best friend from work, Photoshop. This fake pic really helped me to visualize progress, and...

June 23, 2006 Heavier archwire and powerchain This last adjustment was a real adjustment! My ortho changed my upper light archwire for the heavy one. I felt it inmediately. My front tooth started to go up even more. I still feel that tooth loose! It went so high that I thought that the two teeth wo...

May 2006 The wonders of bracket repositioning Next adjustment came with a surprise: bracket repositioning. The bracket on my front tooth was placed lower that the rest, and I went back to the first archwire. I wish I would take several pics of my teeth that night, because changes started to happen ...

April 2006 I don't remember this adjustment very well because it was quite fast, my ortho only replaced my ligs, I asked him about my front teeth, and I was out there 15 minutes later. I was concerned about my left front tooth being so uneven that it was already starting to bother me, as you can se...

I had a bracket repositioned on my last adjustment and I asked my ortho why I had to get back to my previous archwire (I felt the same as you, like a downgrade), and he told me something like you said, Megera_S my ortho said that they go down in wire size because a stronger wire would cause too much...

Hi Melfy! Well, the extractions were super fast, they only took about 15 minutes! I was really nervous, but I can swear I didn't feel absolutely no pain at all. My ortho (yes, he performed my extractions himself) gave me a little pill for taking after an hour, I don't remember what it was (I guess i...

Hey, Gennel, welcome to the forum! Of course I've been teased by everybody about my teeth, from my family and my pears at school. My overjet and really big front teeth were so noticeable, that my parents usually told to the people that stared at my mouth that my teeth were big for my face and they w...
