I'm a full metalmouth!! February 17, 2006 On February 14, my lowers went on. Wow! I felt like there was way too much metal on my mouth!!! And I still feel it! That night my lowers started to hurt a little. The next day, the pain was unbearable. I never thought that the lowers would hurt that much! ...

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't answer your posts before, I was away on holidays and later I had a lot of work to do. Now I'm updating my journal, but first I want to answer your question, ssfw. Actually my ortho never told me how much of my overjet would be reduced. He told me though that I have a slig...

Color ligs are out of fashion???
When I was on vacation, I noticed a lot of teenagers on metal braces. But NONE of them wore color ligs. In fact, I have never seen any other braced person with color ligs over where I live, all of them wear clear (transparent) ligs on metal brackets. I met a friend of my sister who had been ...

Wow! I didn't know that was possible. You guys gave me the best news today. I have my front two teeth worn out in a really awkard way, because of my overjet. And now that they are straightening up one of them look longer and pointy than the other. They form like an ugly V shape: http://i27.photobuck...

For me, I found the bottom braces to be twice as painful as the upper ones! Yes, hanna164, I just got my lowers put on four days ago and I can't believe the pain! My uppers went on on January 9, and my lowers about a month afterwards. They were a breeze compared to the lowers. I read over here that...

My ortho seems to be very experienced and I'm sure he knows what he is doing. I like him, and the way he explains things to me, but he keeps forgetting that I'm an adult, and sometimes he just do things without telling me, like placing the same color of ligs on my brackets. He just asumes things jus...

What an interesting topic...I think that I might be a little obsessed about teeth in the future...even after braces, I believe. I think that getting braces and wearing them for two or three years is a BIG experience and I don't think I would forget that so easily. I believe that I will always have s...

Maybe this helps too: once you finished molding the wax, and you are about to place it over the bracket, wet your finger with water (just a little) and then use the wet tip of the finger to mold it over the bracket or the pokey thing. That way the wax won't stick to your finger. I found it useful al...

How funny...I posted the same question a while ago about the metal spacers... I think that my metal wire spacers are different from the ones you are describing, but yes, one of them fell off too. Apparently they work faster than the regular, plastic ones, even though they are way more uncomfortable ...

Hi Carrie! Yes, when my ortho told me I was going to need extractions, I freaked out. I didn't want to loose two perfectly good teeth! Of course, he aimed at the first two bicuspids on my upper jaw. (I didn't need the lowers extracted). I didn't know why, in fact I tried to found out if it was possi...
