Hello- It feels as if they may be flexing when I bite, but its hard to tell. What I do not understand is that my top two teeth were crowded and inward before I got braces, and now they want to separate? Another question : Could doubling up on these two rubber bands when instructed to only wear one c...

Braces off, but... Dr. J or others?

Hello, I just got my braces off and had my Essixs (sp?) retainer made for my teeth. There is a slight problem I am now having. There is a slight gap between my two front top teeth, and even after wearing my retainer all day and night, it does not close the gap (I also have been wearing it almost 24/...

Yes. My bottom teeth were in fact a tad crowded.

The braces are to be off in about 2.5 weeks, so hopefully things progress from there.

Do they look like this? I had black triangles, but a few months of being braces free and being able to brush easier without brackets rubbing on your gums, and they go away..... Here's my pic of right after braces and now: http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/fyrelight74/triangles.jpg They look ex...

Why did you have this surgery?

Is it because of gum receding or showing roots?

I have 3 more weeks and my braces are coming off, and I noticed the gums around the bottom front four teeth are starting to recede and have the dreaded "black triangles". I wonder if this is a viable option.

Dr. J., Would veneers be a plausible solution to this issue I am having? My teeth do get skinnier as they go down to the gum, so I was thinking veeners would help solve this issue. What is your opinion on this? Gum surgery sounds very painful, but I am interested in the process of pulling your gums ...

"Black triangles" the most common complaint probably on adult ortho cases. This is part of the aging process that implies that you have a greater than normal distance from the contact of 2 teeth to the level of the bone. It's not caused by bad orthodontics at all. We never see this on tee...

Gum Loss - Look Inside

Hello- Another day and another problem. I am on my last 4 weeks before the braces come off and I noticed something. In between my front four bottom teeth are pretty decent sized gaps by the gum line. My teeth touch and are straight, but I just noticed that my gums are now not going up between my tee...

Mine told me changing your elastics EVERY 2 HOURS will speed things up the most because the pressure is constant and always the same strength. I guess the elastics stretch out over a few hours and aren't as effective. That is for sure. This would be your best bet, always having fresh elastic pressu...

I went back in today to get something done about it. He ended up grinding the two ridges off the top of the two front botom brackets, which gave me more clearance. But, now my powerchain hangs over the front of my two brackets, as it no longer has anything to hook into. I guess he feels it will not ...
