Does anyone have one tooth that just always kind of hurts??
It is a tooth that has been moved the most but it still randomly hurts (or at least feels really sensitive /tender) most of the time!!! Ive been braced for 2 months....just wondering if this is normal. It is a central incisor. Thanks!

Hello - did anyone out there get a permanent retainer placed while the braces are still on? I guess it is because my front teeth are done moving but other movements still need to take place? I am in a similar situation - have braces on but trying to keep treatment gentle and short because of short roots. I just wanted to see how yours is going? Are you finished and did you have any further root damage?

Does anyone have a really hard time opening their mouth with the elastics in? Also - does it feel like your canine tooth (if attached there) is being pulled out??

Thanks for the replies - somewhat reassuring!! The pain is tolerable (albeit very disconcerting) but it is more that at this point I am scared too chew with my front teeth!! Does anyone feel this way?...and all I have tried is yogurt, eggs, ice cream, soup..mac and cheese!

I have been braced for 3 weeks....upper and lower.
My teeth STILL hurt and I have really not eaten normally since. My front teeth specifically still feel very tender and sore...and I am kind of afraid to even try to eat with them.
Is this normal??? Does this ever go away???

Thanks for the response! I am worried that since the teeth are moving faster it will affect the roots of my teeth / cause root resorption. I know this method is different because in essence it is softening the bone around the teeth - but did your doctor express any concern about root damage or that ...
