Re: Revision Jaw Surgery after 2.5 Years?
And no - I had no symmetry issues before the surgery. In fact, I specifically mentioned to the surgeon that the two things I like about my face were my nose and symmetry - and those are the two things that have been absolutely destroyed.

Re: Revision Jaw Surgery after 2.5 Years?
My two main issues were a receeded chin and TMJ. My surgeon convinced me that I had a gummy smile that she wanted to resolve but in retrospect I don’t think it was severe enough to warrant fixing it.

Revision Jaw Surgery after 2.5 Years?
Hi There, I've posted on here a few times about the unfavorable outcomes with my surgery. Essentially, for the past 2.5 years, I've been living with poor aesthetic features as a result of my double jaw surgery. My surgeon, without providing me much notice of her plans, made a number of bold moves du...

Hate the results of my double jaw surgery - what do I do?
I had double jaw + Lefort 1 in November 2016. Since the waking hours post-surgery I knew something was off but the surgeon kept brushing my concerns off. A year and a half later, I’m left wondering how I’ve been left in this state. My midline is off 2mm, jaws are torqued, uneven lips, my nose is way...

Saddened by double jaw surgery results - who can relate?
Hi all, I had double jaw surgery in Nov 16 to fix a large overbite. Immediately after the procedure I knew my midline was off. I kept raising it with my dismissive surgeon who brushed it off as minimal or swelling. Well, almost a year later I am dealing with a completely assymetrical face - midline ...

Help! Off-Centred Lower and Upper Jaw
Guys, I'm having a terrible time right now. I'm 5 months out of upper and lower surgery to fix an overbite. Before my surgery my midlines were dead centre - both the upper and lower. After double jaw surgery both my midlines are now off 1.6mm - I did a CB CT Scan to verify. My lips are uneven. My ch...

Re: Before and After Pictures - Upper and Lower Jaw Surgery for Overbite
I did all of that. LOL. It all helped to a degree and I think my swelling is making good progress. I also tried acupuncture but didn't see results and was also going to try Lymphatic Massage but decided I'll just let time work its magic. I've been doing self-massages. My OS referred my to a physioth...

Re: Before and After Pictures - Upper and Lower Jaw Surgery for Overbite
looks great! I had my surgery a month ago and am still very swollen. How's your swelling at 8 weeks? I don't really notice it much
Hey Fixmenow, I'm still pretty swollen. From the side you can't tell but it's noticeable from the front. After a month you should be ...

Before and After Pictures - Upper and Lower Jaw Surgery for Overbite
For those of you wondering whether jaw surgery is worth it here are my before and after profile photos: http://imgur.com/9A5bRC9 I went through upper, lower and genioplasty surgery 8 weeks ago to correct a severe overbite. It's been one of the hardest things I've gone through but when I see this pic...

Re: Actually Corrected Midline?
Hi Naderq, just wanted to check in and see if your crookedness has improved since your last post. My nose is still rather crooked, my lips are almost completely straight, and if I don't look too hard at myself in a mirror I don't notice the midline crookedness too much....

Nose change - moved over to the right
Hi Everyone, 6 weeks out from my upper and lower jaw surgery. Overall I'm happy with the results. My bite is perfect and my jaw looks great. What I'm not really happy with is the changes to my nose. I loved my nose before. Now it's wider, turned upward and it's crooked over to the right. This is to ...

Lower jaw sliding back
I had upper and lower jaw surgery 3 weeks ago. Everything is going great except recently I can start to feel my lower jaw sliding back and creating a bit of an overbite again. It's not significant yet but it's definitely annoying me and mildly starting to affect where my chin is. What can the OS do ...

Re: Actually Corrected Midline?
Thanks! It's great to hear from someone who is just a couple weeks ahead of me going through the same thing :) Overall, I'm really happy with the results. It's just those little things that bother me and I'm sure aren't noticeable to other people. it's good to know the midline could possibly be adju...

Re: Actually Corrected Midline?
Well, they could redo the top, but you'd be looking at a higher chance of permanent numbness and complications. Most people just settle for the slightly off-center midline and learn to live with it.
I was inquiring what my options were without the need of surge...

Actually Corrected Midline?
I'm 2 weeks out of upper and lower surgery and am overall happy with the results. My nose is slight wider and off the right - but I think most of that will subside with the swelling. My biggest concern is my midline. By my estimates, the upper midline is off from the centre of my face by 2mm. My smi...
