My ortho plans to use a bonded retainer on me when I get my braces off. I will also wear an essix retainer full time for one year, then just at night. My ortho gives me one whitening treatment to do at home in my retainer.

My ortho is fixing gaps. I have 2 mounds of cement behind my front two teeth, and two on my back top molars so that I can't bite too hard and hurt my teeth on the hardware. because of the cement I can not bite down all the way and I am afraid of it effecting me in the end. I am sure my ortho has a p...

Jrbecca: I feel like my sonicare is not as hard on my teeth as a regular electric toothbrush, and it cleans better. I don't carry my sonicare with me, I use a travel brush, then just brush really good when I get home. Since I got my braces I have been brushing about 5 or 6 times a day.

Hannah: I am doing really well. I can't chew much on my right side due to my spring, but on the left I am doing well. I have been out to eat a few times this week and am able to eat quite a few different things at home. We had steaks tonight, I had to pass on that, but Taco Bell was yummy!! I have n...

I saw the model of waterpik you are talking about, it looked really nice. I love my waterpik it really helps, and I had posted about buying a sonicare this week. I really like both products. Good luck. Kelly

My bite

Hey hope anyone out there will to hear my concern will be willing to give me their opinions and info. My teeth have began to move a little. I have 4 bite plates, and because of that my bite feels like it is way off now. My main question is does everyone wear elastics at some point during normal orth...

Lucifina: I have had my braces on for 11 days now, and have not felt anything I would call pain. Everything I have encountered so far has been more of an annoyance than painful. I have found myself grinding my teeth a couple times and I had never done that in my life. I usually always wake up and it...

I have been told I will have a upper fixed retainer and upper and lower essix retainers. I will wear my retainers for the first year all the time except when I brush or eat. After the first year I will wear it at night forever.

quiksilver: Good luck with your deployment. my husbands national guard unit was in Iraq for 10 months in 2003-2004. we had been together for a few years and moved our wedding up and got married a week before he left. it was hard, but survivable. He had a lot of down time too when he was often on the...

I know I have not had it as rough as some people, but so far my worst part has been the spring on the upper right side of my mouth. It still makes it hard to eat. I agree I am glad I don't have to encounter some of the appliances other people do...

Purchased Soniccare today

So I posted a couple days ago saying I had not been able to use my electric toothbrush yet, and I got a lot of great feedback about soniccare toothbrushes. My dentist does not give or sell soniccares (I thought he did but they do waterpiks instead), so I had been trying to use my oral be $5.00 elect...

I want to use my electric toothbrush

It has been 8 days since I got braced, and I have not been in any pain really so far. My orthodontist is great and I think they did a good job putting my braces on. Anyway, I have tried a couple times to use my electric toothbrush and my mouth is too sore when pressure is put on my teeth. My mouth d...

I seem to notice people all the time too, even people in my everyday life. The person I seem to notice most on Georgia Fox, a detective on CSI. She has a huge gap between her upper teeth. Anyway, maybe I am just overly critical now :)
