Dena: hey I get braced in two days and there were several qustions I was able to answer on this site. I will let you know how it goes for me so you know what to expect. Remember I think everyone might go through doubting themselves and wondering how bad it will be. Kelly

Congratulations Joes I get braced on Monday and I need encouragement as much as you. It is going to be hard, but so worth it in the end.

My parents would not pay for my braces either and thought it was a waste of money when I told them I was getting them. I think it is growing on them, my dad at least and they are going to come around. I really can't not tell them they see me all the time. Good luck. Kelly

Chops: 14-18 months is what they say, ice ceramics on top, metal on bottom. I am ready for the worst, I am gong out for breakfast on monday before my appt. so I will be full for the day Thanks, I'll let everyone know how it goes.... Kelly

Congratulations!! I get braced on Monday and I am very nervous too. My estimated timeframe is 14-18 months, and I am getting top and bottom braces. Good luck.

Thanks for all the information, the whole thought of this portion of my treatment so scares me!!! I will get usto the idea, I think I am nervous about getting my braces next Monday...

Mine is $4,500 before insurance. Insurance will cover $70 a month until July when I turn 23. ($420 total to be covered) I am still in shock at these prices. Kelly

I was told eventually maybe 1 year after my braces go on, I may have to have surgery on my gums between my two front teeth to trim this gum tissue up. Attagirl2, My denstist uses that technology, I will find out exactly how it works next week. They told me it would take 1 hour for tops and bottoms to be put on. My ortho uses damon 3's. I'll post how it goes. So glad your treatment is going so well. Kelly

I have my braces put on next week and will have ice ceramic tops, and I have a gap between my front teeth they will close. They are going to use wire ties so that they don't use ligs that stain. Anyway are the powerchains used in place of ligs or in addition to?? Thanks, Kelly

I had a lot of problems with a tooth a couple years ago and ended up having it pulled, and my mouth is normal now.
