Re: Surgery COMPLICATIONS! two surgeries 4 days apart!
Yes, the revision was just to pop my jaw back into the socket. I didn't really have a choice as I was unable to leave the hospital between the surgeries.

Re: Is this swelling?
Hey! Do you have pictures of what you mean? But honestly, 4 months is not very long. I remember people telling me your face changes for a year, and I didn't believe them at all. I'm now at 10 months post-op and I look different than I did at 4 months. Not as puffy, things settled more. So it really...

Not yet, I'm having a hard time lol. I've gone to many stores but haven't had any success. Have you put your new look together fully yet?

Re: Changing your whole "look" post-op
Yeah, I didn't know the best style for my face shape either. I just kind of winged it lol. My barber is the type who doesn't give recommendations and gets upset if you don't tell him exactly what you want  A stylist is a good idea. For sunglasses I found a couple websites that recommend differ...

Re: Changing your whole "look" post-op
I'm 3 months post-op and have a hair appointment for next week. I want a new look and something to compliment my "new face". I'm thinking of going shorter to show off my now normal jawline, but I am having a bit of trouble figuring it out only because I am not yet good at knowing what goes...

Re: How long after surgery was it until you liked your new face?
thanks all for sharing, I'm 11 weeks now and am still adjusting. Some days I look alright others I look bad. My smile is still very odd but I think it has to do with all my muscles and nerves regenerating/ getting used to their new positions. I'm doing a LOT BETTER than I was around 6 weeks, just so...

How long after surgery was it until you liked your new face?
Hey, I was just wondering how long it took you to start liking your post-jaw surgery face?
Also, how long did it take for all the swelling to be gone from your face?

Re: Is TMJ physio absolutely necessary post-op?
Just an update, I went to physio and was given 5 exercises to do at home daily. The nice thing is all of these exercises are easy and I won't be needing to go back for a month to a month and a half

Re: Small upper lip after surgery?
I don't think anyone can really prepare for the whole psychological aspect of this surgery! :? Its a crazy emotional roller-coaster that you just don't realize until your living it. All of a sudden you wake up with different facial features! It is so devastating to us because we know our own face so...

Re: Is there anything I can do about opening my jaw and numbess?
I was recommended to see one by my orthodontist, my first appointment is Feb 13th, I'll be posting in the other thread called "Is TMJ physio absolutely necessary post-op?" that jamie mentioned, you should chime in. I'd ask your surgeon or orthodontist first if they have any recommendations...

Re: Small upper lip after surgery?
Hi luneartes, I'm 7 weeks post-op and my upper lip is also much smaller than it was before the surgery, but my phildrum is still swollen. I too am hoping it won't stay this way forever, but have learned over the last 7 weeks that you need to be patient. The swelling really does a number on your face...
