Metal Mouth Message Board

I was informed yesterday that I need surgery on my upper and lower jaw. I was in a motorcycle accident in my teens and have had issues/pain/headaches with my jaw ever since. Lay it on me! How bad is recovery? Pain? Etc. I'm trying to decide if I should have it done.
