Re: Time in braces before surgery
I wouldn't worry too much about the actual appearance of the braces - nobody even notices them after a while. I think if it's being suggested to you then it's probably in your best interest to have them! There's a lot of adjustment to be done pre op to ensure that everything is in the right place th...

Re: double jaw surgery ruined my face?

Well, how much of the asymmetries seem to be in the soft tissues, and how much seem to actually be in the bones? Uneven swelling in the soft tissues is completely normal.
I have no clue. My doctor seem to not know either here's 2 p...

Re: Jaw surgery & hospital costs in Melbourne, Australia
So, I finally have my surgery booked, for April 16. It will be done at Epworth Richmond by Dr Tim Probert. Anesthetist Dr David Hayes. Total cost looking at $14280. I don't have private hospital cover but do have extras. I am having lower jaw surgery with 2 wisdoms out and...

Re: Small upper lip after surgery?
Okay so I'm almost 5 weeks post op now and it looks af if my lips are getting better (albeit painfully slowly!). Re: Small upper lip after surgery?
Thanks guys, I guess I just need to be a little bit more patient with the whole process and stop worrying! I was so prepared for the pain but it's the psychological aspect and dealing with my appearance changing that's throwing me! I hope the rest of your recovery goes smoothly fixmenow!

Slanted teeth?
I recently just had surgery as part of my braces treatment and I knew my teeth were slanted before but it's so obvious now that they're not vertical! Has anyone else had this and can reassure me that this is something my ortho can fix???

Small upper lip after surgery?
Hi, I'm currently three weeks post-op, I had a maxillary/mandibular osteotomy - upper jaw moved up a couple of millimeters and lower jaw moved forward about 8mm! My top lip is TINY in comparison to what it was before surgery and I hate it, I look like Garth from Wayne's world! It was nice and pouty ...
