Re: Coil springs - tips?

Coil spring was the worst braces related experience I've had so far. I was using tons and tons of wax - the one you have to melt a little bit before you apply it. Regular dental wax didn't help much.

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

My canine is finally on the move!! An adult tooth started growing behind my baby tooth in January. I got braces in April and the baby tooth was extracted at the end of October. This is 2 weeks' progress. I'm really excited that this is finally getting taken care of.

Re: Question about new braces/applications

I did, the first time round, when they had to move my molars and premolars backwards to make more space for my front teeth to align. If your bite is off, chances are your upper teeth could hit the lower braces, so maybe they're planning to work around that?

Re: Ceramic braces concerns

I decided to go with ceramic braces (on my upper 6 teeth) and I don't regret it at all. I do like metal braces and would love to experiment with differenct colours of elastics, but I look waaay younger than I am, so I went for the more mature-looking braces :D Staining is always somewhere in the bac...

Teeth shifting with permanent retainer

My sister wore upper and lower braces for 1,5 years. She had very moderate crookedness, so her treatment was pretty standard (she never had to wear elastics or anything like that). Her braces were removed 3 years ago and she got a permanent retainer on upper and lower teeth. However, her teeth still...

Re: Braces, we meet again

Finally some photos... I'm looking forward to tracking how my teeth change. There seems to be a big gap on the right side of my mouth - it's where my tiny baby canine tooth and crooked lower molars meet. As you can see in the photos, the baby canine is barely visible from the front, so I'm hoping th...

Re: Braces for grinding and headaches

I'm a grinder as well... My lower teeth are pretty worn from years of grinding (luckily I have huge teeth, so it's not really that noticable if you don't know what to look for  ). I was so scared during my first night with upper + lower braces - I was sure I would break all my teeth and the bra...

Re: Braces, we meet again

Okay, the braces are on. Ceramic on upper front teeth, the rest is metal. My teeth were pretty painful for the first 3 days. The inside of my mouth is still very irritated. I've been using a lot of was during the day, but I do try to let my mouth get used to it during the night. Eating with these th...

23 years old & getting braces again

I'm getting my braces (again!) on April 10th to finally treat my impacted canine, which made a surprise appearance on its own. My baby tooth is still in, the canine is obviously very crooked, but the ortho says I'll be surprised by how quickly it'll improve. The treatment will take approximately 18-...

Re: IMPACTED CANINES CLUB

Well, my impacted canine suddenly came out on it's own; I'm 23 years old now. My baby tooth is still in (I'll miss the little guy :D) and the adult tooth is growing behind my lateral incisor. I'm getting my braces on April 10th. When there's enough space, my baby tooth will be removed. Surgery won't...

Re: Nerve Pain! Help!

My oral surgeon advised me to take B-complex capsules for my nerve pain following the removal of a very deeply impacted baby premolar. Supposedly it helps the nerves heal faster.

Re: Braces, we meet again

I'm getting my braces on April 10th and I'm super excited. :) I'm still trying to decide between ceramic and metal braces for my upper teeth, but other than that I'm really looking forward fixing them once and for all (hopefully). I'll post photos next week.

Re: Braces, we meet again

I had the first appointment on Monday. To my surprise, the situation isn't nearly as bad as I anticipated. My bite is correct; I've always thought I had an incorrect bite and that it contributed to my bruxism. I will get 2 in 1 retainer & guard after the treatment is done. The whole process will...

Braces, we meet again

In 4 weeks I have an appointment with an ortho to discuss getting braces AGAIN at the age of 23, yay. A little back-story... I had an impacted baby tooth (mandibular second premolar) and a baby tooth growing next to it, pretty deep in the jaw. An oral surgeon removed the baby tooth in 2011 and the a...
