Hi - there is a difference between the two photos. But, just from seeing your mouth in the BW photo, it looks nice, your lips look fuller (orthos seem to take this change into consideration with women, because a fuller mouth is often desirable - you'd have to check with one of the pros though of cou...

Tops off - but diastema?

Hi - the day before my tops came off I noticed a very slight space had opened up between my top front teeth. My ortho didn't say anything and off came the tops and now I have a bonded retainer. I don't mind the small space, but am wondering: - is there a risk that it'll get bigger over time (in whic...

Hi Angel,

of course the patients opinion is primary when it comes to easthetics, but I think your doc is right - teeth next to the front ones should be (a bit) shorter, check out the link which describes 'the perfect bite':

good luck!

Hi again, The person who wrote about molars in the back is called 'nml55' - last I saw it it was on pg. 4 of the forum - that should help you find it (there are some good pics). good luck! If it's as you say, your midline does sound off - of course I'm not a doctor so why don't you ask your doc what...

Hi, Just to share my opinion based on my experience.... How off is your midline? If it's just a bit, but doesn't affect overall look of teeth it's considered ok since 100 perfection is so hard to get. Is it the kind of thing only you would notice looking close in a mirror or is it quite obvious? Abo...

Doctor's or patient's?

Who do the xrays and plaster models of the mouth belong to? Can I ask to have mine when I'm done or are they the doctor's property? Is there a general rule or does it vary from office to office, state to state, etc.?

anyone know?

How to take pictures - help anyone?

Can anyone tell me how all you people are getting such good close up and clear shots of your teeth? I mean how to actually take the picture, not post it on the site (that'll come later)! Do you use a regular digital camera? Does you ortho take them for you with a special camera? Thanks for your help...

Thanks for the consolation - maybe a doctor can comment. Is it true that some teeth just 'weren't meant to be perfectly straight'? I keep reading here about bending and tweaking wires to manipulate teeth...why not mine??

Big decision - any opinions?

My ortho says I'm done and has planned to remove all next week. However my lower left (of the four front teeth) is still not in its place, in fact when the doc took off the arch to let the elastics (which I'm wearing over my whole mouth even the front like Hannibal Lector) work better - that tooth w...

Braces affecting face shape - Doc?

Hello doctors, Is it likely that wearing braces has changed my face shape? My cheeks have a more sunken in look (I look thinner but am not, not that weight was ever an issue) and a couple of months after getting braces I developed two lines (ok - wrinkles) along the vertical sides of my mouth (are t...

I hope so - this topic is so interesting and it is rare to be able to do such a comparison (twins undergoing parallel treatment)
