Update

Hey guys! Well, I had my check-up and the doc says they look OK. Still a little sore though, which bothered me during my very difficult final exam today. Has anyone else noticed that it's really hard to find soft foods when out and on the go? Anyway, long story short, it's all good. Plus I get to sh...

WAX

You've learned how to use the wax properly? I have not yet learned, I think. Care to pass on some advice on the matter?

5 extractions! Ouch!

Hmmm - I'd ask the ortho before putting any chemical in my mouth! Then you can do it without any anxiety about what it'll do.

Also, how were your extractions? I just had two done and it still hurts 3 days later!

thanks you guys

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'm just worried because of all the stuff I read on the internet about dry socket... especially because I'm female and on the b/c pill places me in the high-risk group. After over 48 hours I've rinsed with salt water, etc., and I keep fearing that I'll dislodge the bl...

Extractions are SCARY!!!

Okay, so I'm in my 3rd day after having 2 teeth - my 1st premolars, or the ones behind the eye teeth - extracted. It went smoothly, except it didn't stop bleeding for 6 hours and I'm still terribly afraid of getting dry socket. I'm being very cautious not to create any suction in my mouth or to disr...

Spacers are hell!

My ortho had to try about 10 times to get each spacer in - very bloody. Plus there was no room so it pushed really hard on my front teeth making my entire head ache.

Orthodontics in so medieval and barbaric!!! But it's worth it!

Spacers!

Okay, I got my spacers on Fri, Dec. 1st. Sat. and Sun. were HELL - but today, three days later, it's MUCH better already. Actually, so far I've had two of the spacers come out and I had to put them back in myself. Now THAT was bad! Plus I got blood on my shirt from doing it. (It's very bloody for me...

Spacers

I have the spacers in right now - four on top, four on bottom. :x I am really going crazy - it's finals week, I have so much work to do, and all I can think about is how much my mouth hurts, how I can't eat any good food, and how the next two years of my life will be spent in agony - who me? a drama...

Lesdent's story - 1st entry

Hi everyone! I'm 20, and a 3rd-year student at the University of Southern California. With financial aid and a little help from my parents, I am finally able to get braces! ( PS, Lesdents means "teeth" in French!) I will post pictures soon, but here's my situation: Severe crowding. Upper ...
