Re: Ceramic braces on lower teeth - your experience?
Greetings, I have had upper and lower ceramics for just about 2 weeks now. Both of the orthodontists that I interviewed/evaluated prior to the application indicated that I could do ceramics on the bottom because I did not have an abnormal bite. It seemed as though because the ceramics are little les...

Re: Hello!
Greetings, approaching the second week, and the soreness is abating a bit. Chewing is a bit strange...I can sense a subtle change in my teeth, the stability of them. My mouth is SO dry! Oh well this too shall pass!
Hope you are doing well!

Re: Day 2 of 32 with braces
I am 56 yo lady and at day 9 of top and bottom ceramics...could not get the back molars banded so I have that to look forward to...Yeah. I think the sensation of having my teeth unsettled ( I guess they are moving ..? ) is the most weird. But perhaps it will be worth it....it better be worth it, who...

Re: Hello!
Hello Steph30......yes, my application date was 29 March 2017...so, I too am about a week into this great new adventure. I have ceramic upper and lowers. I am not sure what your "bite plate" is but I got a plastic thingy that I am supposed to chew on to help with soreness. My cheeks are so...

Re: New, Nuevo, Nouveau....Yikes
Well, it has been a week...not that bad really. Some rubbing on the inside of my cheeks, a little time to get used to talking and the soreness associated with that...good thing I am not a big talker! The weirdness of feeling like your teeth aren't as stable as they were is a bit unnerving. Oh well, ...

Re: New, Nuevo, Nouveau....Yikes
Today is THE DAY....application of the braces....
The spacers were fun. I had the dubious distinction of having some of the tightest spaces my orthodontist has seen in a LONG while. She had to resort to using a few metal spacers...Nice!!
Can't wait to see my new smile and then the evolution!

Re: Oldie but (hopefully) goodie? Braces at 63
I am another one who is soon to take the proverbial plunge into ceramic land....at 56 years...my dentist suggested it two years ago and if I had taken his suggestion then, I would be nearly finished...Oh well, you are ready when you are ready.
Right??

New, Nuevo, Nouveau....Yikes
How many ways can you say new and make it interesting.....well, I am new to the ArchWired community and about to be new to the adult braced community and very new to the "what in the ' H- E-double hockey sticks' am I doing?" community! Well, I am a 56 yo female and two years ago my dentist...
