I just got my braces off yesterday and i also got my retainer. i started wearing my clear retainer yesterday and my teeth are very sore....i can't even open my mouth to talk. has anybody experience this before? if so what can i do to minimize the soreness of my teeth?

Just a quick question..Does the size matter when wearing elastic? My ortho made me wear size mideum elastic and I actually forgot them when I went out of town to visit my family. Fortunately, my brother had elastics but I don't know what size they are. Do you guys think it would make a big differenc...

Yeah you guys are right my co-workers are very immature. kirst1 what color are your elastics? I’m planning on getting the colored ones but I don’t want to get the wrong color that’s going to make me look ridiculous.

Thanks for all the replies. Well, I wore my elastics at work today and some of my co-workers were laughing at me because the elatics in my mouth looks like a saliva going up and down when I tallk. do you guys have the same problem?

I wonder if everybody that has braces have to wear elastic? I just started wearing elastic to align my upper and lower teeth and my ortho wants me to wear it 24/7 but I was thinking of just wearing it at home after I get off work...has anybody done this and is there a big difference if I wear it the...

after the braces come off is it necesarry for everyone that had braces to have bonded retainer (a retainer worn behind the front teeth) and is bonded retainer permanent after braces?

Thanks for all the info you guys. I just cant help to notice that ever since I started wearing braces I look totally different. I have a bump on my upper lip (i hope that will go away after my treatment) and my mouth seems to be wider. ggrrr but hopefully after my treatment everything will be better.
