I didn't really have pain the day I got my braces on - just awkward feeling. I got some soreness after a few days (as well as sores inside my cheeks/lips). Hopefully you stay without pain!

Most mornings I eat oatmeal... not exciting but it's easy. I like to add some peanut butter. I eat pasta, usually try to make a meat sauce to get some protein in there. I use Original Chapstick. Even before braces, I was a Chapstick addict. I always have it with me and use it throughout the day. Probably even more now with braces. I hate any kind of flavored chapsticks or off-brands...

I drink coffee every morning and just brush my teeth after.

This has been a pain for me too... about 3.5 weeks and I haven't even tried to bite into anything. I want a burger! But I feel like I'd just end up with half of it stuck in my braces anyway... :(

I usually brush 3x/day after meals, sometimes an additional time if I eat anything else. I can't stand the feeling of anything in my braces or the thought of someone seeing a piece of food in there. ;)
