Re: April - June Surgery Buddies
Oh my gosh so much happening to you AAC.. the occlusion looks like it's working well for you but the implants for your face isn't what you feel looks best on you. It's only been a month since surgery so just give it more time for you to heal more properly, recommended 6 mos, so that you can see more...

NnjhTo my previous post, I meant I'm 2 days post op. So happy for you to get your splint out! Lucky. How does it feel? The mucus build up around my splint is ridiculous I can hardly breath.

Re: July-September surgery buddys
I had my surgery Wednesday so I'm 3 weeks post op today. I've been using my pain med sporadically and trying to reduce the doasge too cause I don't want to become hooked or anything. I can usually go 5 hours or so until the pain is becoming to unbearable with half doses so that's good. If I message ...

Re: April - June Surgery Buddies
Qqvine, after the surgery, how often and how many days did you take the Chinese medicine? I bought a box online with 16 capsules. Did you use 1 on the first day after coming home from surgery or multiple times a day for multiple days?

Re: April - June Surgery Buddies
QQvine- My insurance and everything finally pulled through so I was scheduled in August, but then the office called and said there was an opening July 5th so I took it! My surgery is in less than 2 weeks away, so we'll be a little more than a month difference in having IVRO (with the addition that I...

Re: April - June Surgery Buddies
Lala - I'm glad your surgery is in the works! I hope they approve the surgery cause it's tough for some insurances to allow it. IVRO is a surgery type different from BSSO in which the lower jaw is cut a bit further back than what the BSSO is. It also more than likely will avoid the mandibular nerve...

Re: Confess your orthodontic sins.
My ortho sins: -I whitened my teeth with a bleach tray before braces. I'm really scared when I take off my braces, there will be white squares and I'll regret my decision. :? -I've broken a bracket off a crown before. The assistant told me this is normal because the brackets usually will stay on muc...

Re: Is it just me???????
I'm a dental hygienist so I have experience in dental, but not so much on the ortho side. I can just say that during braces, we kind of work the periodontal ligaments of teeth for movement and it has a certain amount of movement with braces over time. I'm sure your orthodontist knows whats the appro...

Re: Day 1 - don't think I can do this!!
I felt the same way after getting braces.Take advil to help with some of the pain. But know the pain means the braces are working, so don't worry! It'll take time but you'll get used to it. Eat softer foods til you can chew better. I just pushed through some harder foods after a few days so my teeth...
Hi! I'm looking towards getting surgery in early June. It'll be my second jaw surgery. My first was June last year. My initial surgery resulted in overimpaction of the upper jaw, so my surgeon is planning on bringing it back down in the second surgery.
Anything ...
