How important wearing Invisalign at all times? meaning can I take the trays off for a few hours a day in the evening? Has anyone heard this cited as a cause of a failing invisa treatment?

Does anybody know overall effect on quality of one's teeth (gums) after Invisalign (or traditional braces) in the long run? I want to know from patients over 30 years of age who had braces a couple of years ago or their friends/family. Are their teeth/gums feel the same as far as cavities, etc?
