Hey there everybody! Sorry for the time gap between updates. Anyways, heres whats been going on: My teeth are now completely straight, and have been for about a while now. My ortho is working on vertical overlap of teeth, as well as fixing my midline. Progress seems evident between each visit, but i...

Whew! Its been a while since I've done an update. So heres whats gone on in the past few weeks: Basically, I'm now almost done (2 1/2 months with braces so far)! I went through the most horrid elastics stage I've ever heard of (I couldn't even open my mouth), but its been worth it. They are now just...

Take a look into the wilckodontics program. Thats what I'm going through now (2 1/2 months in so far) and I'm already almost done. Its supposed to be 3-8 months average with the surgical acceleration. Not only that, but it supposedly doesn't have any downsides (other then the extra financial cost). ...

No worries about the opposite sex! It's just fine to keep them on, and nobody really cares except the person in braces. My girlfriend has been the same to me since I got them on. More then anything, there have been even more people talking to me about themselves getting braces, and asking me questio...

Thanks for the support guys! The change is pretty surprising, even to me. Right after an adjustment, I actually notice visible differences from then until that night! And thanks for the compliments on the colors. I get them changed every week. Combine that with my rather silly personality, and a den...

I went in for another adjustment yesterday. This one was particularly painful, but I don't feel much anymore (~24 hours after the adjustment.) I'm still amazed by how quickly my teeth have been moving. Heres some pictures, around week 4 of treatment. http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/4264/top42rx.t...

Heres the link to the little blog I'm trying to make, so others who are about to go through the procedure know a little more about it: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=8100 During the surgery, I was very numb, and given additional sedatives meant to keep me calm. I actually fell aslee...

Went to the ortho today for my 2nd adjustment. So far, I'm feeling a little bit of pain, but I was able to eat pretty normally about an hour after the adjustment. My ortho commented on how quickly my teeth are moving, and said that I may have my braces off sooner then expected (keep in mind, this is...

I had my wires changed at the first adjustments after I got braces on. Since, then (3 appts now?) I've had the same wires on the top and bottom.

So, I guess it just matters where you are in the procedure, and how everything is going.

My ortho never had molds taken for me. I jhad the pictures, and the xrays, as well as this additional 3d view of my entire skull which was like a 3d, full color xray.

Hey there! Great to meet someone else who will be going through this procedure. As of now, I am going through with the AOO procedure, and was told beforehand by my dentist that I need to get them extracted (1 of them is impacted.) Since I wanted to rush the procedure and get the braces on and off as...

I didn't get any spacers either. I think it all depends on your case, and whether or not your ortho wants to use them. From reading these forums, I've found that each and every ortho uses different techniques and appliances.

Did ianyone else notice that the spring, although really good at making room, seems to put your teeth in a funky position? Like, I know mine aren't as straight anymore.

My ortho normally will come in and check whats going on, and he does all the surgery himself. He will usually come in, take a look, tell the assistant what/how to do something, makes sure I don't have any questions, and then leaves. Thats fine with me though, because the assistant knows what shes do...
