Well gang.......my orthodontist tried to close my gaps by looping a wire around my teeth from canine to canine and twisting it until the gaps were almost closed then put a bonded retainer in to hold it there and planned to do the same next month to get it the rest of the way. This was fairly painful...

Got my lower expander. It has a retainer type wire on it but is already causing some gaps. Guessing lower braces may be in my future. I’ll post pics when I can.

Thinks are going GOOD! Braces coming off December 18 and will be getting Hawley retainers.

No, I take it out to eat but wear it pretty much all the time other than that. Speech was a tiny challenge at first but got better pretty fast. I’ve been wearing elastics in one way or another for at least 2 years so no big deal.

Hang in there!! It’s really not awful like you read from some people on here. Obviously some adjusting to eating etc but I wanted this so making the best of it. Look forward to seeing your treatment progress.

Finally a pic of the lower expander. If I take it out for even an hour, it’s super tight going back in. I made the mistake of leaving it out for 4 hours on Thursday......need to get these teeth stable now.

Lower expander.....have already turned it all I need to now just have to wear it until my teeth are more stable in the correct position. To power chains again to start closing gaps caused by the expander. I’m on the down hill slide i think. Working on posting a pic..

Tomorrow 3-18 is lower expander day. Nervous and excited!!

It’s official! I’m getting a lower removable expander a week from Monday. Nervous but excited. This bite is the last step.

No so much as complications as much as my teeth are stubborn...guess I have a good root system. I’ll find out about the expander on the 18th of this month. Pics coming soon.

Been busy but I’ve had some changes with my orthodontic adventure. Still in braces, after the top expander, my lower arch is still a little narrow so my molars aren’t matching. We’ve been trying buttons on the inside of my molars on the bottom to the brackets on the outside. But, it’s Not working. I...

Two more buttons added today for more force from inside lowers to outside uppers. Elastics going straight from button to bracket then a box around both buttons and both brackets. I’ll try to post pics soon. I think my orthodontist is doing everything to avoid the bottom expander.
