12 Days Remain!
We have somehow shaved two months off of my expected duration, and I will have my braces off in 12 days! My anticipated debanding was late April- and then suddenly a couple visits ago it looked more like mid- February. And now... it’s in just 12 days! So many things have changed with braces. My jaw ...

Wait... what?!
So I settled in for my routine ortho appointment this morning- same old commentary about slow moving canine, elastic wear needs to continue 100% of the time, bite looks good otherwise, changing you to wire lacing, your next appointment will be your “deband-check” appointment, let’s wire tie these tw...

Re: Relapse prevention of deep bite (not overjet)
Balanced occlusion should allow your teeth to contact in such a way that they will not shift- the retainers maintain the teeth in the desired position long enough for the bone and ligaments to settle permanently, and the lack of excessive pressures (which are caused by malocclusion) will mean your t...

Re: Will elastics work for an adult with overbite?
I’m 27 and have had fantastic results with consistent and constant elastic wear. My overbite and overjet is roughly 80% corrected halfway through my anticipated time in braces. Now we are moving my midline, which is proving stubborn, but it is still moving.

Re: Braces made my two front teeth slanted
I’m dealing with this exact thing now! My teeth are super slanted. I believe in my ortho so I’m not too worried. It’s a slow process and they have to focus on one or two issues at a a time. Right now my midline and overbite are more important issues.

Re: Bump Behind One Tooth...HELP
If your tooth moved significantly, the gums are used to having space and are now squished together. I had a huge diastema and when it closed the gums protruded out the back because they simply had no where to be.

Re: 5 Months Already!
Now it has been 7 months and I could not be happier! I now have a huge square wire on the bottom arch and a powerchain across the social six up top. In addition, he added 24/7 super heavy class two elastics. In just three days, my diastema and gaps between the lateral and central incisors are alread...

5 Months Already!
I was braced in late June this year. I was hit with molar build ups as someone who was naive to their existence, plus I work in a business where I talk on the phone for a living. I also picked the busiest time of the year to get braces! The first two weeks were hell- a liquid diet and sudden obsessi...

Re: Overjet and buck teeth - metal or clear braces?
Ceramics are more likely to break with tension or contact with other teeth. If your teeth are rotated or significantly horizontal, I wouldn't bother with ceramic.
I have a huge overjet and overbite, large horse teeth. I went full metal for top and bottom and I don't regret it.

Re: So it begins...pendulum + braces
I am less than a week in with Damon braces, and based on my research I am really glad my orthodontist chose them for me. They provide less stress on each individual tooth. This means they don't hurt as bad as traditional braces, and it lessens chances of resorption; they are easier to keep clean; an...

Re: Consultations
Just one for me. I was referred to my orthodontist by my general dentist. I have been really impressed with the contacts and fellowships he has with his specialists so I have full trust in my orthodontist's recommendations and treatment plan. I have nothing major (no extractions or surgery) so I had...

First phase archwire
Quick question- did anyone else start their first phase with two small diameter arch wires on one arch? I have two jammed in to my brackets up top and was just curious if anyone knows why that is done.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Good luck to you, too! I was lucky to have my wisdom teeth extracted years ago so I luckily don't have that concern.

Just wanted to see how things went and to find out if you are debraced yet?
