IMO, the real reason people lose weight while on braces is increased stress and anxiety. One guy I knew that had braces before me was extremely skinny..once he had them removed, his weight went up dramatically in just a few months. didn't think it would happen to me, but after 6 months with braces, ...

you could try a chiropractor that works on facial muscle etc. I see one where I live and he gave me exercises to help my TMJD. I am sure If I can find one in po-dunk Wyoming you should have no trouble. they give you stretches and such. Clear this with your ortho. Thanks for the reply What problems ...

woah, i've been in these situations many times  it's not that my teeth are bad (anymore), its just kinda embarassing if I smile in return and they see that I have braces, or at least thats how i think. so the person who doesn't know me might take it as a "not interested" gesture when ...

I'm also sort of in a similar situation as you are (thread starter) My ortho has hinted that I'd have braces much less than 2 years (currently at 14 months) and for the past 6 months he hasn't made any adjustments on my upper teeth even though it clearly had some crowding remaining. But, I didn't sa...

How do braces give people that "kid-like" appearan

I've noticed that the majority of the people i've seen in braces, no matter what the age, tend to develop a very kid-like expression after have being treated for a bit of time (at least 4 months) So I decided to get braces at the age of 18 and before that, I had the normal adult look for a male..fir...

Im also 19 in college, had braces since second semester in freshmen year. As far as people mentioning it, I haven't heard ONE thing from anybody yet from either friends or family. As to what other people think, at this age, people are mature enough to not say anything out of line or make a big deal ...
