Re: Adjusting midline
Thank you both. I just thought I would update - I ended up getting a powerchain across the front teeth. I have elastics now but not for the midline, just to deepen the bite slightly. I am now on my final wires..braces off in four weeks!

Adjusting midline
Hi all, I have had braces now for about 8 months with about 6 months left to go. My ortho said the next step is to adjust my upper midline by about 2mm. At the moment I have a gap on the correct side and only my incisors will be moved. My canines are in the right place already How do they usually go...

Re: They're on! How do I eat...?
I think it was about 3 or 4 weeks before I felt like I was eating normally again. Even at that point I still couldn't bite with my front teeth. It gets easier though. I am about 5 months in now and I don't even notice them

Re: 29 - Braces Journey (terrified)
Hi, I just want to say that I have ceramic upper and metal lower. Although a bit bulkier I definitely don't regret the ceramics and they are far less visible. The only annoying thing is when you have a metal coil with them - kind of defeats the object!

Moving house mid way through braces treatment
Hello, I am in the UK I am about 3 months into 12-18 months with Damon braces. I live in the south of England and have unexpectedly been offered a job that I can't refuse. This would mean relocating about 300 miles up North and therefore it would be very impractical to travel back for my reviews (es...

Re: Just had braces on
It may feel like forever but you will get used to them. It took me about a month to eat fairly normally again but some people are fine after 10 days. After the first 3 weeks I didn't really have any pain apart from the odd individual tooth. I had my first adjustment 2 weeks ago, had 1 day of discomf...

Damon Braces and rotated lateral incisor
Hi guys :) I am fairly new to braces (a couple of months in) and have a question:- I have Damon Clear braces on the top though my upper right lateral incisor is not bracketed yet. This is because it is rotated (around 90 degrees) and there is no room to fit the bracket/wire to it as there is very li...

Re: New braces
Hi. I have Damon Clear on my top teeth and metal on the bottom - I was told that having clear on the bottom is risky as the ceramic brackets can be quite abrasive on the top teeth. Plus they are bulkier than the metal and as no one can see them I didn't mind asking for metal, especially as the small...

Re: Water flossers
They don't replace manual flossing but certainly helps knock food out of the braces and makes cleaning easier. I use a water flosser followed by a large interdental brush to clean around the brackets. Then I will use a tiny brush to get in between the teeth where possible, followed by brushing.

Re: Cost of your braces
I'm 25 and in the UK. I have Damon Clear on the top and metal on the bottom and it is costing £2800 (would be £3500 all Damon Clear I think).
