Hi I had this done, the numbness is to be expected and will be that way for up to 6 months or more mine took around 9 months. It was a tough first week with expansion but you get used to it just get some pain relief in the system before you turn the key. I'm still in braces 2 years down the line but...

First of all wow! What an incredible transformation I had sarpe surgery 6 months ago and I will be starting my braces journey next week! Eek! I'm glad it was worth it for you my turn now lol

I'm a chef by trade and my job is stressful but not in a bad way its healthy stress keeps me on my toes and focused I also don't feel like I'm grinding and clenching out of stress but hey I don't know for sure? I haven't used Dr mew but I have recently undergone sarpe surgery with a palatal expander and its all gone really well I was told that expansion in adults is near impossible as all the bones are fused I am happy with how things are going hope you find the right decision for you, all the best

Thanks I had my op on the 31st of August and I'm still brace free as I was expanding for 5 weeks!! I'm getting my bottom braces first on the 21st of November so its a step in the right direction I still have my expander not sure when that comes out lol

Hey 1st 24 hours were a bit hazy the surgery went well and my nose stopped bleeding yesterday so that's good the swelling is intense and uncomfortable and now all the anesthetic has worn off I need to judge my pain meds to make me feel more comfortable

Sarpe surgery booked need advice on aftercare
So finally after waiting months and months for a date it's finally happening next month I'm pretty anxious about the whole situation. Can anyone tell me what I'll need for after the surgery to make things more comfy?

Braces only on 2 front teeth to create a gap before sarpe surgery
So on Thursday I had 2 white brackets fitted on 2 front teeth with a small wire and a spring that will open a gap between the teeth so my surgeon can separate my palate has any had this? As you can see my midline is way off which causes alot of tmj issues

I had my appointment this morning and my orthodontist took pity on me and didn't fit the expander as I've still haven't got my surgery date yet so that's a plus but I did have 2 brackets on my 2 front teeth with a spring between them to create a gap before surgery and I have temporarily got ...
