Elastics - Different strengths

Hi Docs (and everyone else), At my last adjustment I got elastics again.. One goes from the upper right cuspid down to the lower right 2nd molar and upper left cuspid to lower left 2nd molar. (hope I got that right - I used my online tooth diagram!) I have to wear 2 different strengths though. On th...

Im sure that my teeth will gradually get used to having the elastics on them and i wont even notice them. Yep. This definitely happens. I've got elastics for the 2nd time now after having a break from them for a bit, so I feel your pain. You will get to the stage soon where they are comfortable and...

Yep. I use the online conversion calculators all the time.
Feet to metres, kilograms to pounds etc. It really is a pain!
Hmm... going off track just slightly. I loved the biggest loser but hated the fact it was all in pounds. I can't wait for Monday when the Aussie version commences. :D

Krist I asked my ortho about it after reading that Clo (another member of this community) was using it. I'd stopped using it when I got braces because of what I'd read on here, but when Clo wrote that he was using it I started to think about using it again. It had never whitened my teeth but it did...

For those of you who don't want to (or even do) lose weight, I recommend you check out www.fitday.com. It's free to use the web-based version, and you can input your diet each day (as well as activities) and it will keep track of everything for you. That site looked great but unfortunately none of ...

I agree and thought the exact same thing when I saw that pic.

I called my husband to tell him I'll be getting my braces off in about 6 months, and instead of being excited for me, he pointed out that means I have to pay the treatment off sooner than I thought - men  LMAO - go figure hey... they've always gotta find the negatives! My braces were paid off...

Wow Cookie, that's great news. It's actually scary how similar your story is to mine! I had an adjustment this morning also. I've previously had double power chains over the gaps (now just single ones) and had elastics (4 worn horizontal... also to help close them). As of today though I have to go b...

Hi there. Nah, your post was perfectly clear
I just paid the total amount and that covers me for however long it takes with the braces, plus retainer and follow up appointments.

I think I'm the only idiot that still bites her nails. Nah, you aren't alone on that one! LOL When I first got my braces on I thought great - my nails will grow now that I can't bite them. It didn't last long though. I bite them the same as before, with no trouble whatsoever. On the whistling thoug...

I am just not understanding these posts. Is your braces treatment something you want rushed? I wouldn't. Of course my ortho told me 2 years, but he said, to be more realistic plan on 3 years. Maybe it's just me but so I'm finding braces are not that bad. Inconvient yes, but not unlivable. - Missing...

I have the fluoride treatment as well but mine is just a rinse of about 1 minutes... For me the fluoride treatment was a requirement before the braces were put on, but I haven't been told to have one since. It was the same as what Flora2006 said though. There were no trays or anything... I just had...

lol I can associate with this. I remember thinking my ortho must've actually forgotten to do the adjustment the first time I didn't feel any tightness or pain. But quite a few of my adjustments have been pain free now and i'm still seeing progress!

Thanks!
Now I just have ulcers (canker sores) to contend with. Either my teeth have moved to a new position and the brackets are rubbing... or that toothpaste really doesn't agree with me.

kirst1583 I use Colgate toothpaste with baking soda and peroxide several times a day ... and apart from stopping for about three months until I checked with my ortho it was safe to use with braces, I've been using it for over two years. I can't think of any reason why this would happen to you, but ...
