Is it possible that my upper arch/palate is a bit narrow? (Picture)
It’s not at all as narrow as others I have seen and maybe it isn’t narrow at all? Still I have a buccal crossbite, is it possible that it’s too narrow even though it doesn’t look very narrow? Maybe my lower jaw is very wide? (I had to convert the picture to black and white because it looked gross in...

Interesting! Do you know why they were unhappy?snapdresser wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 12:02 pm I’m not sure what the guidelines are, but I know some people are unhappy with the cosmetic results of palate expansion if the rest of their face is fairly narrow. Just an FYI![]()

Re: Opinions on flossing? Other techniques?
I don’t think flossing is unnecessary for me because when I haven’t done it in a while and then do it it’s quite nasty (both bleeding and unfreshness), so obviously I do need to clean there. I think the need for it depends bit on how much space there’s between the teeth, my teeth are very close toge...

How narrow palate/upper arch should you have to be a candidate for SARPE?
Does anyone know? It seems like it's only performed if the palate/upper arch is VERY narrow.

Re: Completely lost after several jaw operations
Hi again! I just wanted to clarify that sometimes it's ok to move the teeth even though the problem is skeletal. It depends on how much they would have to be moved!

Re: Underbite - surgery or no surgery?
I’m curious about your facial profile! Are your lower jaw/chin prominent? Moving the teeth in the lower jaw back when the jaw is too far forward often don’t look very good (in my opinion). The bottom lip will be tucked in but that usually creates a situation where chin is further out than the bottom...

Re: Completely lost after several jaw operations
I’m so sorry that you have to go trough all this trouble, I sounds awful! I think that you should go and see a surgeon and hear what he/she thinks would be best! If your teeth did meet/fit properly before all this the problem is obviously skeletal and moving only the teeth would mean moving them awa...

Re: Narrow palate/upper arch?
Does anyone know how narrow the arch should be to do SARPE? I’ve only seen it used on extreme cases.

I think so too, and maybe it could cause damage to the tooth if it pops of like that so yes, check with your ortho!

Re: Narrow palate/upper arch?
Turns out I’m no new to post pictures.. by the way I forgot to mention that my tongue feels a bit “misplaced” it’s like there’s not enough room for it in the upper arch. And the lower arch is also a bit narrow since the teeth leans inwards slightly (I guess that they are positioned like that to fit ...

Narrow palate/upper arch?
Hello! I’m trying to figure out if my palate/upper arch is a bit narrow. I have some problems that I think could be related to a narrow/upper arch for example: I do not get enough air when breathing through my nose (and therefore I often have my mouth open, especially when I sleep, I have a crossbit...
