I wore my retainer, but had late jaw growth. My teeth looked perfect, except the front teeth were coming down right on top of eachother. It's supposed to be rare, but like alot of things - it could probably be hereditary.

This sounds really bad, but I'm suspicious of your dentist. Maybe get a second opinion before you have anymore work done.

To Granola - I don't have the bottom ones on yet, so I can't compare. BUT compared to the first time I had braces this is a peice of cake as far as pain. They do kinda glow when the lights hits them!

My kids were mystified at first, but I spent some time letting them count the brackets and they seem ok with it. They also know that they have to be careful not to accidentally hit me in the face (happens alot with small kids).
