Congratulations! The pain will definitely get better. It's different for everyone but for me the first day was just strange, the second day was the worst, after that every day was a little better than the last. It was less than a week and I was saying that they weren't that bad.

I can't see the pictures either. The first one is very, very tiny and the second is only a little bigger.

Do all ortho's have the wire ties? I asked the assistant today and she said they only put ligs on brackets...just curious. Also, how in the world can you bite down to even close your mouth let along eventually eat real food when your top teeth cant go all the way down because of the bottom brackets...

I agree that you should go with what your ortho suggests. I have 6 ceramic brackets on my upper front teeth because that is what mine suggests for adults and there is no additional cost. I thought that I would only like ceramic. Now that I have them on I realize that all metal would not be a big dea...

I also wanted to add that I have the Glide threader floss because that is the only kind that will go between my teeth.

I had all those same problems the first few times I flossed. I had to cut the floss more than once to get it out. My lower teeth were so tight to begin with. i was very discouraged the first night. After about the third time it seemed to get much easier. I think it just takes some getting used to.

I have clear ligs on my ceramics. So far they aren't stained much at all. Only enough for me to notice but no one else can tell. I can't decide if I am going to ask for wire ties or possibly silver ligs at my 1st adjustment in 2 1/2 weeks or just keep the clear.

I'm so glad you asked this. I had a black mark too. It was coming off very slowly with brushing then today I took the proxy brush and scrubed a little. I didn't have to scrub hard. It's all off now, hooray I thought it was just the wire. I had no idea it was just ink.
