LOL, I was just thinking about this very subject last night. In less than 48 hours I am going to be all about cleaning my teeth and analyzing everything I eat.

Yikes, I hope it's not the braces and just a cold that will go away. My toddler has a cold right now and I am hoping he doesn't give it to me since my braces go on Thursday. I have lots of issues with my sinuses. I really hope the braces don't make things worse. I hope you are feeling better soon.

What a meanie. I'm sorry you have to deal with someone like that. She's trying to make you upset. I wouldn't let her know it bothered you.

Welcome. My braces go on Thursday. I am also 38 and have small children. I have 3 boys who are 7,5,and 2. I'm worried that the 2 year old isn't going to like the braces and try to pull them off. He's not going to be too happy when he can't slam his face up against mine for a kiss :yikes:

Then there's the morning sickness which gets stuck in the braces, especially since I have linguals on the top. Ugh! I had horrible morning sickness with all three of my kids. I can't imagine being pregnant and having braces. I feel for you. Thankfully it doesn't last forever even though it seems li...

I was told that I would have one put in and that it would be permanent. I don't know if it's necessary for everyone or not though.

I just asked this question the other day because my ortho did not take a mold of my mouth either and as far as I know there is no plan to. I have a nephew in braces who goes to the same doctor so I asked him if he had a mold taken. He did not have one either. My SIL said the ortho periodically takes...

Welcome! I'm new to this board too and I'm also from NC. I'm glad to hear that the discomfort is bareable. My braces go on on Thursday and I'm really scared about not being able to eat.

I hope your appointment to get your braces on goes well this Thursday. Just keep in mind you chose to proceed with orthodontic treatment for a reason, whether it is for the health of your teeth or cosmetic or both. I hope you have an orthodontist/assistant that has a great 'bedside manner' and will...

Good luck with her appointment. My oldest son is 7 and has had one consultation with our ortho because he has a small upper arch and a crossbite. He still had some molars coming in then so we waited to do anything. He needs to go back this June to be looked at again and most likely he will need an e...

I am afraid that I'll be sitting in the chair on Thursday having second thoughts. I'm trying to push those thoughts away right now and I'm only somewhat successful. It's all very scary.
