I am very interested in these comments. My ortho said I would get an Essix retainer on top. I think this is just what they give to adults. I really think I am going to ask to discuss the possibility getting a Hawley retainer instead and at least find out his reasons for choosing one over the other. ...

I'm not having any extractions now. I did have my wisdom teeth removed but that was almost 20 years ago. My problems are just some minor crowding on the top and more crowding on the bottom. I'm not sure how everything is going to straighten out on the bottom but I have faith in my ortho.

I only have crowding and no bite problems. The estimate I was given is 6 months for the top teeth and 12 months for the lower. It been not quite 2 months so I don't know if those estimates will be extended or not.

I felt tired the first 3 weeks especially the muscles in my face. It has gotten better. I still notice it some of the time but it's not as constant as it was at the beginning.

Two weeks ago I got wire ties on my clear brackets. They are just a tiny silver wire and I love them. I didn't have any real staining issues with the clear ligs but I worried about them all the time. That's great that you are happy. You can't do better than that. I've been wondering something, how long do you have to wear your retainers 24/7? I'm no where near that point so I haven't asked my ortho but I've been wondering.
