Re: Intro and thinking of throwing in the towel to avoid more crown+bracket/band problems

As assertives said, you could get bite blocks or a bite plate to stop you knocking off your bottom brackets, this is a pretty common scenario with overbites / deep bites. I myself have a bite plate for precisely that reason, as do many others on the board from reading. Although being completely hone...

Re: Posterior Buite Turbos/Molar Buildups

They certainly look a lot more pronounced and 'pointy' than any molar build ups I've ever seen, very unusual, usually its more material spread across the surface. Of course the ortho may well have intended they be done as they are for some reason, but it doesn't hurt to check with them / ask if this...

Re: Why do some people get all their appliances all at once, whereas others get them gradually?

Funny, I found my bottom braces much more uncomfortable than the top when they were first fitted, I was actually quite shocked because the top ones seemed almost easy, and though I had very sensitive teeth and the usual mild pain trouble chewing, they really weren't too bad, so when the lower ones w...

Re: 7 days in braces - Cuts

I found that Iglu gel was quite effective and sticky, good at persistently remaining on ulcers / canker sores, where as Bonjela and similar tends to come off very quickly and the pain returns. One thing about Iglu it though is that its quite like brace wax in texture, to the point if you're also usi...

Re: I'm little confused

When you say you're wearing invisible braces, do you mean invisalign? If that's the case then it should be fine to just remove your aligners while you have the whitening treatment, I have a work colleague who had it done while they had invisalign. If you mean white / clear brackets or lingual braces...

Re: Bottom retainer broke

If you don't wear the retainer and your teeth shift, you may be faced with the possibility of having to get braces again to correct it - assuming it bothers you. I know its a hard pill to swallow, but personally I would spend the few hundred sorting out the retainer rather than risk having to spend ...

Sounds like you had a similar situation to me DB27, although I was told I needed the bite plate, I wonder if just waiting 8 months for the top braces to start working their magic would have worked instead, it certainly would have been less hassle! :-)

Re: Why do some people get all their appliances all at once, whereas others get them gradually?

I was wondering the same thing because I got my top braces first but didn't get the bottom ones for a couple of months. I also had to have a bite plate fitted before I could get my bottoms, to stop me from biting off the bottom brackets. Other people I know have got all their braces fitted at the sa...
