Smoked after jaw surgery what to do?
So I am about 6-7 weeks into recover, and I am not a smoker but if someone offers at social events I will accept. I smoked 2-3 cigarettes yesterday, and at the time I wasn’t thinking that it might affect the healing process. I did some research and apparently smoking can slow down the healing proces...

Soft chew diet only the second week after jaw surgery?
I’m on my fourth week of recovery from my jaw surgery going into week five. My surgeon let me go on a soft chew diet on week two, and even though I have been successfully able to do it I’m Worried he put me on a soft chew diet too fast because usually it is six weeks. I’m hoping this doesn’t affect ...

Re: Swelling after jaw surgery
I am about 12 weeks post op and still have visible swelling. I have heard it will take up to a year for all of the swelling to go down. I look completely different at 12 weeks then I did at 1 week. Don’t worry, it takes time for the swelling to go down, and for your final results to appear. Just be...

Re: Swelling after jaw surgery
I am about 7 weeks postop and pretty much have no swelling remaining that will cause a noticeable change in appearance, I am in a state of regret as I absolutely hate the aesthetic outcome😭😭 I’m sorry the outcome didn’t come out as you expected ): I thi I there might still be time allot of people s...

Hi, I got upper jaw surgery to correct my underbite on the 6th last week. My swelling has went down allot since then but I still I don’t look like myself. I am scared these are the permanent results. Upper Jaw Surgery to correct underbite?
I am wondering if anyone has had upper jaw surgery to correct an underbite and crossbite? I’m suppose to be having surgery in 3 weeks and they have changed it from lower jaw surgery to double jaw surgery and now it’s suppose to be upper jaw surgery. Apparently my “lower midline coincides with my fac...

Can you get Sarpe and Double jaw surgery at the same time?
My orthodontic treatment is done, but my oral surgeon has let me know that my upper jaw may need expansion surgery as well as jaw surgery. Are you able to get jaw surgery and jaw expansion at the same time. I read that you have to wait a year and 8 months, and I will not be able to do that so I am h...

Bottom teeth inward
So I had a surgical mold made for my bite, and they were certain this mold would be the last. Yet when they looked at it the bottom teeth were going inward. The bite fit it was just the right side of my bottom teeth were going inward, and they said they think it could take 3-5 “visits” aka months to...

Bite fits but still waiting 3 to 5 months for surgery
So I went to my ortho appointment today, and he took a mold and even waited to see the mold because my ortho wanted to know if it was done yet. So basically the mold does fit but my bottom teeth go inward a little bit, and he estimated a 3-5 month wait to get them to stand up straight instead of inw...

My mold looks ready.. but still holding off
So recently I viewed my mold, and the bite fit fine there were just two crooked back molars. My ortho said the surgery won’t happen this summer, because he wants the boys not to be rushed. I can’t tell him when to let me but this seems a little ridiculous. They fixed the whole side of my crooked bit...

Ortho trying to make me change Oral Surgeon
So recently I’ve posted about how my ortho said to adjust the one side of my mouth would be 3-4 months. I had a surgery date for June, and when I asked him if I could make it then he said he would try. Once my 3 adjustment came along he told me only had one back molar to adjust, so when I asked abou...

Ortho changing treatment plans and being difficult
So I’m about a little over a year into my one year treatment for my oral surgery. I’m suppose to be in braces two years afterwards. The problem I am having is it seems as if my orthodontist isn’t being considerate. Currently with the most recent mold he told me there was only a few back molars to ad...

Space between teeth in an hour after adjustment
So there was a gap between my two lower front teeth, and one of my orthodontist said it could’ve be closed until after surgery, but for some reason today another ortho said he was just gonna close it. I’m not sure what he did but the pain is excruciating, and it seems as if the gap did close right a...

Who should have more say oral surgeon or ortho?
So my ortho looked at my recent mold and said he only had one back molar to adjust, and my bite should be ready... but I had a tracing appointment with my surgeon this month, and he told me basically not to go because “oral surgeons tend to rush things and he wants everything to be perfect”. Honestl...
