Has anyone had a setback more than or around 10mm?
I was wondering if anyone on this forum has had a mandibular setback around 10mm or more. I have lower jaw asymmetry and I found that I would be requiring surgery on one jaw to correct this, but I keep seeing people having ~5mm movement but mine is almost 10mm. Has anyone got this done?

Hey, you said your midlines were off after your first surgery. How much were they off by? I think I'm in a similar situation myself.

What exactly does "Mandibular projection" constitute? Does it refer to the projection of the chin?

Re: Correction of horizontal deviation?
[quote=PierreDeFermat post_id=504188 time=1535138311 user_id=31191] Yes, a "cant" is one of the more common reasons a person would undergo orthognathic surgery. Your case would be considered moderate. You will most likely need bimaxillary surgery (surgery on both the upper and lower jaw) a...

Correction of horizontal deviation?
My left jaw is overgrown compared to my right. This results in my jaw midline being 9mm deviated to one side. Is it possible to correct this through surgery, I'm asking because 9mm seems like a lot.

Re: My Jaw Surgery Relapsed only on one side?
[quote=PierreDeFermat post_id=502580 time=1528403431 user_id=31191] Mandibular setback surgery is more prone to relapse than moving the jaws forward. Nowadays such major relapse is considered relatively rare but it does happen. Unfortunately it sounds like you might need a complete revision, and I s...

My Jaw Surgery Relapsed only on one side?
I had Bimax Surgery about 4 years ago to fix an underbite. My lower jaw was moved backward by 7mm and upper jaw was moved forward by 3mm along with a genioplasty. Within a year of the surgery, I started showing symptoms of asymmetric face. My left side jaw was almost fully relapsed and so my midline...
