Update!
Now in Week 23. I've got full wires on top and bottom now, along with the lacebacks on all four canines and the chain on the upper left. Just had an adjustment a couple days ago to tighten things, they said next time I can get a stronger wire.

Re: Braces for 44 Days!
I got mine on June 7th!
Things are going pretty well. I just had my first adjustment last week, they basically just tightened everything up, and added a chain from one of my canines to my TAD. I've got more details and photos at the link in my sig![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: This has been a long time coming...
Had my first adjustment yesterday! They replaced all my wire ties, tightened my lace-backs, and added a chain (four links I believe) from my upper left canine to my TAD. Nice to see that thing getting some use at last. My next appointment is in 4 weeks, the plan is to tighten everything again and re...

Re: Braces at 59
My tongue definitely likes to explore and play with my brackets. Thankfully haven't cut it on anything (knock on wood) though I've come close when messing with my lace-backs.
The clenching happens to me too!

Re: Does it really take two years?
Oh, and my treatment time is estimated at least 2.5 years, could be 3. It really depends on what needs to be done.

Re: Does it really take two years?
From what I've seen, many people make a lot of progress in the visibly straightening aspect in the first 6 months, and then things slow down for fine tuning and bite adjustments. When you'll start seeing changes depends entirely on your mouth and how rapidly your teeth move! I started noticing small...

Re: This has been a long time coming...
My canines are bugging me today, especially the right lower one. I know this is good because it means things are moving, but it's just kind of bothersome. Overall I feel like I've been pretty lucky so far, not much pain to complain about. You got withe wire ties. They are looking great. I had also ...

Re: Braces at 20!
I don't think you'll look goofy. Honestly I've had multiple people tell me they're cute, if they even notice them in the first place (I have upper and lower ceramics). I ended up being a lot less self conscious about them than I thought I was going to be.

Re: This has been a long time coming...
Got my elastics changed out for wire ties yesterday! They went ahead and tightened my lace-backs too since I was there. Exciting since that means there's been some movement! It's hard to really see it, but I can tell that my left maxillary lateral incisor and canine have shifted. Day 1: day1.jpg Day...

Re: This has been a long time coming...
Called my Ortho today and got scheduled to get my clear ligs switch out for wire ties. So glad I only have to live with these stained things for two more days! I also got my ligs changed to wire ties on my clear brackets. The disadvantage is that the ligs made the ceramic brackets smoother and afte...
