I read a lot about speech problems..and I love to sing. Am I not going to be able to sing really well?

I'm confused...in about 2 weeks my orthodontist said that my "appliance" would be coming in. All they mentioned was that it would be worn in the roof/top of my mouth. What could this be and what's it for? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I saw that..I was surprised she couldn't even talk..let alone sing. At first, when she went to try out, I was thinking how cool it would be if she made it, having braces and all, but it was so funny how bad she sang.

dairy intolerance? That has something to do with it? Wow..I'm very intolerant to dairy.

Okay, every morning, for like the first 30 minutes of the day, my teeth/mouth/gums are so irritated and sore. I'm just wondering if anyone knows any night time things I can do to make sure my mouth isn't a flameball of pain when I wake up.

Ahh..thank you all for the advice! As far as the wax goes..I've went through almost 3 cases so far, and it just so happends that this nasty little irritation is in a spot where I can't put any wax. See, my canine teeth had to be skipped until the other teeth can be moved, so basically there is a lar...

Exactly! They really don't seem the same. And the worst thing is, I can't really prevent these in any way.

It's been 2 weeks, and I've got my first canker sore..I HATE IT! I could handle the constant rubbing of the ends of the wires against the insides of my mouth, my tongue getting blisters from the molar bands, the chapped lips, but...this canker sore is by far worse than all of it.

I smile the same, it's just that now I smile with my teeth more than before.

Mine close all the way, but seem to bulge out a little more than they used to.

Hmm..I have one that was like that before I even left the office!

I've just kind of been easy on it and left it alont though until I can get an appointment. It's really tight and I'm in the same boat you are with tyring to get it back on there.

Here it is..I was going with the pink/orange, but I saw the blue and green and loved it. Right now, it just feels kinda poky and funny, but besides that, no pain.

I think it has to do with whether or not you have fillings in some of your teeth. All of my spacers are placed between teeth that have minor fillings.
