update: It's been just over 3 months since my bsso. Swelling has gone down significantly. One day I just looked in the mirror and recognized myself again. I am sure that has helped a lot. Thank you for the responses. Sarah, my jaw was advanced 6mm. That’s a good point you made. I saw my doctor again yesterday and he still isn’t doesn’t want to talk about it until I’m healed. I had given up on ever regaining all feeling in my chin but it did come back. It took about 7 years.
