BROKEN EXPANDER 2 weeks Post SARPE
I'm devastated. I had SARPE Nov. 18th. Surgery went well. Surgeon activated expander with a resulting diastema. I started turning the expander like a week post-op, and my diastema was growing. About a week into it, the expander "jammed". The key would NOT Budge. I exterted so much pressure...

SARPE recovery (time off from work)
Basically wondering about how much time you took off of work for this. I have a relatively physical job in that I am on my feet all day and lifting up to 50 lbs... Worried about this

Re: Anyone know about ceasing orthodontic treatment mid-way?
[quote=pcspinheiro post_id=507614 time=1558722935 user_id=29127] Some relapse is expected, unless you ask to remove the braces AND get retainers. If used as instructed, retainers should prevent the teeth from shifting. I ended my treatment midway due to irreconcilable differences with my ortho, who ...

Anyone know about ceasing orthodontic treatment mid-way?
I've had lower braces on for one year. Just got top braces on- supposed to be ready for double jaw surgery in one year. However the risks of the surgery outweigh the potential positive outcome. I also am quitting my job and I'm going to lose insurance benefits that would have been neccessary for me ...

Re: Recovering from jaw surgery alone? Advice?
It's apparently not allowed, in case anyone is wondering.. At least at the hospital I'd be getting the surgery at. You cannot be alone for 72 hours after leaving the hospital, and you cannot leave alone

Recovering from jaw surgery alone? Advice?
It appears that undergoing double jaw surgery in the near future will be in my best interest. Unfortunately I really do not have anyone that I would feel comfortable with enough to ask to accompany me through surgery and the recovery process. My plan is to get my surgery from Dr. Gunson in Cali. So,...

Reconsidering braces and double jaw surgery (alar widening?)
Hi all. I've always wanted straight teeth. I have severely crowded tooth (#10), so much so that it almost looks like it isn't there. After an orthodontic consult with hopes to straighten this tooth, I discovered that I have an open bite, cross bite, and an underbite- however all these issues are wel...
