Elastics OUCH

OK so the unbearable pain / can't eat / can't sleep has only happened to me twice before (when I first got braces and after one particularly tight new archwire). But now I have elastics, one each side and one that goes on front teeth at night in a box shape. It's to correct open bite and something l...

Mine is £2330 that's £750 up front and £99 a month for the rest, estimated 18month treatment time. That's for clear/tooth coloured braces on bottom and top front and damon3 on the back top ones. I went for a few free consultations with ortho's in London and they wouldn't tell me a price without c...

Hi, Thanks so much Meryaten for taking the time to reply. I did indeed get some wax from my orthodontist, I completely forgot about it because I didn't attribute the pain to the brackets rubbing my mouth, until I saw the ulcers. There's so many different feelings going on, I thought the pain was all...

Ceramic braces damaging tooth enamel?

I'll be getting partly ceramic braces soon and I suddenly remembered something one of the orthadontists I had a consultation with said to me.. He said in a small percentage of cases ceramic braces can damage tooth enamel and this is visible (and not known) until removal of the brackets at the end of...

I've never heard of In-Ovations, are they metal or tooth coloured? I am really confused now. The main reason I want this orthadontist is because he seems confident I'll get results, the others just implied my bite cannot be corrected without surgery. He's not willing to use full ceramics on me. GRR ...

by normal I mean non self-ligating, metal or ceramic. Damon braces can expand the palette unlike "normal" braces I believe, having read the literature etc. I have had consultations with 4 orthadontists. I am getting braces primarily to correct my bite (cross bite, over bite and open bite)....

Piercings and braces...

Hi, I have a madonna piercing (like beauty spot) on my face. Will this affect having braces? I've been for several consultations with orthadontists and they haven't said I'll have to take it out, but I keep forgetting to ask. Im hoping to begin my treatment in around 3 weeks. Has anyone had this pro...

Mixing ceramic and damon?

Hi, My orthadontist wants me to use damon to get the palette widening that you can't achieve with normal braces. Obviously I want the best results but I also wanted my braces as unoticable as possible, i.e ceramics. As a comprimise he wants to use ceramic on the front 6, top and bottom, and damon on...
