Braces, Flutes, and Gums

I have had braces for about five months now, and I play the flute. It hasn't been harder to play, (unless you count the first week or so) but the pressure from my braces are ripping up my gums. It heals, but after I get adjustments my teeth move and my gums get ripped up again. Is there any advice p...

Just Got Braces This Morning!!

Owwwwww! I just got my braces in this morning and it went fine until I got to school, ironically enough. I had to go to the nurses office to see if she had tylenol or something, but I had to have an authorization form to take medicine. I have two chains to close my extraction spaces, and a tur...

I just got my spacers in two days ago, and I cant feel a thing! I can eat normally, bite down on my teeth, and everything. Three days have gone by without anything. I'm getting really nervous, though because my mom, (who has braces as well) said that they drove HER insane and the pain should come :s...

Getting Spacers Tomorrow!

I'm getting my spacers tomorrow! I'm excited, but everyone I know with braces say spacers drive you nuts  and all you can eat are mushy foods (which I fortunately like). Can anyone prove them otherwise?

When I had my extractions, I brought my iPod with me and I totally zoned out while my teeth were being removed. Music is a great distractor for these types of things.

Thanks so much. I love my flute and I have a friend who plays the flute too, but she just got her braces off today (lucky) and she said nothing really ever affected her when she played, so I wanted a couple people's advice. Thanks!

Anyone Who Plays Wind Instrument With Braces?

I'm getting braced on Feb 8, and I play the flute as well. I have lessons every other day (Monday - Friday) and am curious to know if having braces affects the way you play, or how you play, or even if you can play at all! Just curious... Also, if you play another wind instrument, thats fine as well...

Celestial, I had two upper bicuspids and two lower cuspids removed a couple weeks ago, and I had only had the novacaine treatment. The tool my dentist used pinched when he gave me the novacaine, but after a few minutes I couldn't feel a thing. My dentist had all my teeth out in ten minutes! The real...
