Hi Tunkabean, I find the whole process fascinating! It would be even more fascinating if it went faster! :-) The pain doesn't bother me either. I look forward to adjustments. I think chewing (gum for instance) on something after an adjustment feels kind of good. I have to say though the first 1-2 w...

I have my top ones only as well. It will be a while before I get the bottom ones because my bottom teeth aren't bad at all. I see. I have a medical condition involving my joints and so on, so my dentist was scared about doing too much unnecessary work. This is why we opted for just a top brace, sin...

I've found GUM Softpicks to be much easier than traditional floss. They're little floss picks, but very slim and with a rubbery, bristled end. I can usually get them into the tiniest spaces, and they don't shred. Don't know if that would help with the molar bands, but it may be worth a shot. I don'...

I haven't used any wax since braced. The first week was ok. The only thing that suck was the dieting. Got to have food. Most of the time I don't even feel that I have braces on. You're really lucky. Ive been waxing up 24/7. I didn't mind the diet though, since I really like soup afteral. Today is d...

This was the first piece of advice a good friend of mine gave me when she heard I was getting braces 'lots and lots of warm salt water gargling' I tried it on the 2nd night of braces and was shocked @ the results the next day... the healing was quicker with the sore and raw inner lips and cheeks.......

Thanks for the reply.
Like u said - taking them wouldn't hurt....
From what I've been reading, the shakey feeling is common when older people get braces... so I shouldn't be worried.
