Have u tried Black ligs?

Its a somewhat silly question amidst the more serious forum talk.....but today I went for my adjustment checkup, now into my 7th week or so of braces, and decided to actually put something other than clear Black! I was told that was a bold move  Its best for not changing colour with the foods. ...

Re: Why do teeth move so fast/why do we need them on so long

I just had my braces put on about 6 weeks ago - I've noticed that my teeth have moved and they almost look perfect already! I've noticed from peoples' pictures that theirs seem to move quickly into almost perfect place too. So why do we have to have them on so long? Is it because all the little adj...

My denitst wanted to refrain from any heavy/long work bec. of certain health issues I have, and thus didn't want to do extractions. I don't have much crowding at all...so yesterday I got the polishing done between 3 of my teeth. 0.5mm I believe. now its being pulled back to close the space, and brin...

I think it's totally normal though.... people will identify immediatly with something of their own experience. I'm sure I would do the same thing when I see people's teeth. I already do it while looking @ tv. I keep looking @ folks with straight teeth and wondering if they had braces when they were ...

I stopped whistling too....which is a bad thing cuz I loveeee to whistle lol

BUT ummm.... an advantage will be that now I'm less inclined to eat between meals, because I don't wanna have to be cleaning and brushing my teeth all the time.

I always try to remember to check for pokeys, but if you have gaps and they start to close, that can cause the wire to poke out the back. It has to go somewhere. Ah yes, my dentist told me that today... that as the teeth move, the wire will start poking out. All I have to do is give them a call and...

Question: Should/Do you put wax on the spring?

I went for my 1st adjustment today after getting braces just a week ago. The dentist put in a spring over my canine.

Question: Can/Should I wax the spring? Or will that stick between the coils and prevent the spring action from working properly?

Any thoughts on this?

I've got JRA - so my joints are pretty messed up...or @ least risky. My denstis was most careful and even hesitant when it comes to my treatment... for fear of inflammation or the joint slipping out of place etc.

But things are going smoothly so far....1 week into treatment.

I got a spring put into today after getting braced just 1 week ago. Dentist warned that this may be sort of painful...since apparantly it's pushing 2 teeth to move :? Already I can't bite down with my front teeth @ all. I have the same concerns as the poster above ^^ .... my next appt. iz a month fr...

Hey.... fellow Veggies. I'm a vegetarian also...my entire family is. I've been on the veg scene for about 9-10 years now. So I have no probs with biting into meat like the dentist warned against  Also, its a lot worst to have a piece of meat stuck in ur teeth for a long time... than a niece pie...

Gosh I LOVE popcorn!
My dentist actually failed to mention popcorn as a food to avoid, but I can visualize how troublesom it can be if it gets stuck in hard to reach places.
Maybe tonite I'll make me a bowl :D Then I'll post my experience
