Re: 3 Months Post Op-Have Many Questions
Yes, I had a Lefort 1 2 piece and on the mandibular a subapical osteotomy. Did you have your surgery three months ago as well? Do you still have swelling and or numbness? Sounds like you had a more complex procedure done than me, although I had the Lefort as part of SARPE. I had my surgery on March...

Re: 3 Months Post Op-Have Many Questions
What type of surgery did you have? I only had a Lefort 1 maxillary osteotomy, so I think mine must have been less complex than yours. 3 Months Post Op-Have Many Questions
So, I had jaw surgery Jan 28th. So I am almost 3 months post op! However, other than swelling and some numbness still everything else seems fine. I have no pain or anything. My question is how long does swelling take to truly go away? It's been almost 3 months. Is there anything I can do to aide in ...

Re: Midline off post jaw surgery. Is that normal?
Yes, they did do medical mapping. I went to my orthodontist and he seemed to be very pleased with the outcome of surgery and said all my concerns were things that can easily be corrected with the rest of my ortho treatment. So, I feel confident to know that this is something that can be fixed.

Midline off post jaw surgery. Is that normal?
So, I just got my splint and unwired today. So happy about that and I am 4 weeks post op! My only concern and its not really a big concern is that my upper midline is off and I have a slight open bite posteriorly on the left. Its more deviated to the left the midline that is. My surgeon said that ev...

Re: Smoked after jaw surgery what to do?
Smoking definitely does slow down the healing process. I would probably just not smoke again until you are able to talk to your surgeon again and get their opinion.

Re: Post Op from Surgery done Jan 28th 2020
So, updates! Days 4 and 5 have been complete awful. Muscle spasms, haven’t been able to sleep, started freakin bc i felt like I couldn’t breathe. Than these major intense pressure headaches. I don’t if it’s because of the swelling or if the splint is to tight. My narcotic pain meds ran out and the d...

Ooo, wow, well I am sorry to hear that. I hope that over time things change. Maybe it's just due to the swelling still needing to go down more. They say it takes a little time.

Re: Jaw surgery regret
I am just curious what is it that you all don't like post surgery? That is a fear of mine. Is it just more so you all might still be swollen and can't truly see what your face looks like or do you look like a completely different person?

Surgery Jan 28th Lefort 1-2 Piece and Subapical osteotomy ! I have lots of questions please answer if you can.
Hello! So, I am having surgery next Tuesday! I'm excited and a little nervous. I am having Lefort 1-2 Piece on the Maxilla and subapical osteotomy that will be isolated to my left side only. I know a Left 1-2 Piece is common to have, but has anyone ever had a subapical osteotomy and were there any c...
