I don't see where an employer would give a hoot if a job applicant wore braces. I think you're worrying for nothing. Frankly, most people don't care that we wear braces. Forget about that and concentrate on your interview skills and you should be fine.

Another Damon user here. I've found them to be very comfortable, much more so than I expected. I've never had a problem with the doors sticking. The only problem I've had with a bracket coming off was because it had to be placed over a metal filling. The ortho replaced it and it's fine. I've also se...

I have several amalgam fillings that I've had for 21 years. They seem to be doing okay, I've had no symptoms or anything, but once my braces are off I plan to have them all removed and replaced with ceramics so I have pristine looking teeth. I'll be so glad not to see those big, dark fillings anymore.

Please tell us you are making a bad joke, because that is an extremely sexist statement.

Your teeth need to be cleaned and you also need to floss for the sake of both your teeth and gums. Leaving the wax in may seem more convenient but it's a bad idea.

kk is the nicest and most helpful poster on this board. She goes out of her way to provide excellent information to people here. When I was new to this board, KK made me feel very welcome and supported. Thank you, Karen! You are very special. :D

You need to be mindful of libel and slander laws. Even if you think your comments are true, that doesn't mean the ortho can't sue you and let the courts decide.

Wax is definitely the way to go. The only way to sleep with your mouth open is to cut off the oxygen supply to your nose. And even if you could do that, it would give you a sore throat. Just pile on the wax and be done with it.

Good for you! You have the right attitude. I'm like you, I was told I'd need extractions and that just didn't feel right. So I waited and a few years later was told that, because of the Damon system, I would NOT need extractions. I've been braced for 7 months and my teeth are probably 97% straight. ...

My ortho ALWAYS checks me before the techs do anything. I'd have a real issue with any ortho that didn't do that. Your treatment is the orthos' responsibility -- not the tech's. Techs are not orthodontists. They should only operate under the supervision of the ortho and should NEVER be substituted f...
