GA Ortho

I live in Snellville, I go to Drs. Parsons and Gilbert. They have offices in Lawrenceville and Dacula. The website is http://www.smilesforever.com/ I have been going there for a year. What I like most is for my monthly payments, if I let them automatically draft my account then there is no interest....

Payments and Insurance

I paid $195.00 on my initial consultation (I saved $100.00 by agreeing to have the braces put on at this consultation). I then paid $169.00 when they were put on and pay $169.00 a month via electronic draft. With the draft I do not pay any interest. My total treatment is $4225.00. My doctors office ...

Not sure what the bars are

I am not sure what the bars are for but my back brackets do have hooks on them. I also had a tightening yesterday and 1 spring installed yesterday all. It is becoming uncomfortable because the inside of my lower lip is getting caught in it. Hope you get your answer and get used to the springs.

Metal or ceramic

Harpua, like everyone else suggests talk to your ortho. I was considering but after speaking with one of the girls in the ortho office who wore the ceramic convinced me not to go with them. See said hers always stained and that the ceramics were not as flexible and easier to break. If you are concer...

Valentines Gift

I have moved the placement of my lower braces to February 14. This will make me fully braced. Upper braces were placed January 18. Uppers/lowers

I had my uppers on Feb 18 my lowers go on March 7. My doc prefers to do it this way with everyone to let them adjust. Good thing for me. My tech put a square thicker archwire on me and after having the braces on for 7 days I had to have it changed to the round thinner archwire put on. I couldn't bit...

Shaving teeth

My ortho would rather shave a tooth down than extracate. He hates to remove the teeth unless it is necessary. I am going to have to have a few shaved to make room for a wayward virgin tooth (I am 42 and this tooth has never been in contact with an upper tooth). This is included in my treatment plan ...

Clenching

I clenched my teeth for about the first 10 days. I also called my ortho and was told basically the same things as everyone else that it is the teeth moving. What's funny is I only have my upper metal braces on. I won't have the bottoms on until March 7, so I will go through everything again.

January Bracie

I had my upper braces placed on January 18. I had the archwire changed out on January 25. My technician put the square archwire on and by the 25th I couldn't even bit into a piece of toast. Now that I have the thinner round archwire I am adjusting much better.
