I had the same thing done to me years ago. Supposed to be only lower jaw moved forward but it ended up in impaction as well. Result was over impacted, zero tooth show at rest. There's a forum called Jawsurgeryforums where there are a lot of personal experiences with surgeons in terms of consultations and surgery. Focuses mainly on US surgeons and some in mainland Europe. I'm in the UK and they don't seem to think there are any good UK surgeons.

I had double jaw surgery through the NHS in the UK a long time ago. I got a BSSO well over 1 cm and lefort 1 impaction around 5-7 mm (gummy smile). Sorry, I can't remember the exact details now.
