I'm not sure if there is much of a difference, but I know I paid less than $60 for the hydro floss, so you might want to shop around a bit! I would also highly recommend a sonic care toothbrush. Between the two them, I've remained plaque/cavity free and now only floss occasionally.

I had the same problem with sensitivity. (I too posted about it) My molars were so sensitive it felt like the nerve was exposed. Just about the time I had experienced enough pain and was ready to call the doc, it went away and has never been back. (It lasted about three days.) As for the blue colori...

Immediately after getting my bands on, I had a lunch meeting with a friend. By the time we were done, I thought I was going to bleed to death with the beating my poor tongue was taking from the bands! (Even wierder, I couldn't figure out exactly where the offending piece of metal was?) I used my son...

For those thinking about taking the plunge...1 mnth update

This is intended for all of those browsing around the site that are contemplating taking the plunge (I'm sure there are many, as I was one myself :D ) It has been exactly one month since I had ceramic uppers put on. (Lower metals go on in a few months) I prepared myself for what to expect (thanks to...

Thanks all! I'm happy to report that the mysterious sensitivity/pain went away after a few days. It seems that as soon as one problem disappears, another is waiting in the wings to replace it. I know they really struggled to get the bands on, so I'm probably lucky that a couple days of sensiti...

Sensitive teeth from the bands?

Anyone else finding the metal bands around the molars making the tooth opposite from it sensitive? I've only had the molar bands (6 of them) on for a week, and I'm beginning to develope a very sensitive spot. I'm assuming the metal is grinding away at the enamel, but am not sure. Any suggest...

I had 8 spacers put in a couple of weeks ago- 2 of them metal because the teeth were too tight to get in the rubber ones. The first three or four days were the worst, but I quickly got used to them. I started every morning with a 12 hour pain killer and supplemented that several times throughout the...

For what its worth- I've had clear uppers on for a little over a week and very few people have even noticed! (I'm a teacher and very few of my students have noticed- or don't care enough to mention it.) Just go with whatever YOU feel most comfortable with, as most people probably aren't that observa...

Don't feel too bad- at least the spacers are only for a short while! I currently have 8 spacers in  I'm on day 7 with seven more to go. It took about four days before I could eat solid food. Now I don't even think about them any more! :)

Honestly, their teeth would have to be pretty bad before I'd make any judgements. Personally, I find yellow or discolored teeth more disturbing than crooked teeth! I've lived with a gap my whole life, and that wasn't enough to get me to take the plunge. Ultimately, it was the bite issues and health ...

I just got the uppers on last Friday. It will be around 3 to 6 months estimated before the lowers go on. From reading other postings on this site, that doesn't seem to be uncommon, particularly if there is an issue with the bite.

That sure seems like an awful long time to have spacers in. I had 8 put in and they are supposed to only be in for 2 weeks. Two of teeth were so close together that they couldn't put in the rubber spacers and went with the metal springs. Those come out in a few days and the rubber ones will go in. K...
