I had SARPE last May, braces on since last April...I really didn't lose any weight in the beginning, probably due to smoothies (icecream, potatoes,etc.) I only lost weight when I was employed a few months after surgery in retail and was on my feet all day, then 10-15 lbs. just dropped off like nobod...

Yup, certainly follow your ortho's rules....but...I changed mine every time I brushed/waterpik'd, and that was at least 6 times a day.

I think it's different for everyone, but for me I started noticing changes a couple weeks after I was braced! I'm only two months into being braced now after SARPE surgery but HUGE changes have occured already, my bottom teeth are almost totally straight, my right incisor that used to stick way out ...

I had SARPE in the beginning of May. About 2 weeks before that, I had my brackets placed but no wires...so technically I was not braced before surgery, just had the brackets on. You're not abnomal!
