I have lots of gaps and I've been noticing that my gums between them are getting really puffy as the teeth are pushed back. I was wondering what was going on. :? I didnt want my spaces to close but judging by what you're saying I guess they are going to close anyway - whether I like it or not

Good question SSFW, I'd love to know the answers as well! So far my ortho has only mentioned braces and elastics, he didnt even really inform me that I had an overjet, much less such a large one!! I want to ask him tons of questions, I just have to figure out which ones :? I think the first one I'l...

Naomi, how long did it take you to make the leap from 10mm to 4mm?

That is excellent!! Sooo encouraging!! :D

I have a crossbite which is currently being corrected with an expander.

Thanks.

I had extractions and elastics.
Same here!

I come very close to you with a 9mm overject although im sure it has probably been reduced a little and im not sure about my overbite, its not that bad. I'll try and post some pics later. I look forward to seeing your pics darkangel. I'm going to try to keep a running log so that I can track the pr...

I'm right there with ya. 10 mm overjet and "almost" 100% overbite. I'm sure there's others out there with larger overjet. That's a record I don't really want to hold! Chris Hey Chris, Guess I'm not alone. I agree, definitely not a title I like holding. Hopefully these braces do what they ...

I don't even know what those are :? My dentist and ortho never mentioned anything like that to me...no overjet, underbite, overbite, etc...just one crossbite. Is that a lot? As in 10mm protruding to the front or something? Yep Flora, its a LOT of protruding. Funny thing is that most people dont rea...

Biggest OVERBITE/OVERJET Ever

All this talk about overbites and overjets prompted me to call my ortho. I inquired about the size in millimeters and percentages of my overbite and which of them I actually had. Their response, both! Overjet: 10mm  Overbite: 100% Holy Cow!! Guess I've got a long way to go

Aww! I think it's great that you like your gaps. I wish I could say the same for mine but I'm so self-concious. I have gaps between the top 4 of my teeth but mostly between my two front teeth. I've been made fun of A LOT for my gap and it has really brought my spirits down. My ortho says that I sho...

I have mine to correct my overbite but I DO NOT want to get rid of the spaces, my orthodontist disagrees but I really could care less -- I love 'em!!! Is the ortho correcting an overbite (deep bite) or an overjet? If he is fixing an overjet - don't know how he will do that without either closing ga...

Thanks for the responses guys. I think my Orthodontist has an evil plan. He mentioned (at my last tightening) "cant wait to get this top gap closed" -- Me: "...ummm...remember I told you I just wanted to correct my overbite, not close the gaps!" Him: ".....ahh, riiii...

Colgate TOTAL.

It's excellent, the best toothpaste I've used thus far -- 2 years and running.

Also, the flouride treatment from the dentist. I use it right after brushing with Total.
