Lizzoo things will get better. My teeth had to adjust to braces and it did hurt some to floss, but after a short time it got easier. It will be okay if you can't floss for a while. Stick to brushing after you eat and use a floride rinse until you can floss. Also, as your teeth begin straightening o...

My ortho was questioning the strength of ceramic brackets. I have a gap on top that was made and will need closed, but they weren't adamant that I couldn't have ceramic on top. However, I could NOT get ceramic on bottom due to my bite because of concern that my upper teeth would collide with the sli...

Hey Everyone, I just got braced last week. I also got opaque ligs. I really like them. The assistant let me compare the clear, opaque, and white wire ties. The wire would hurt less, but was bright white (like my lower ligs). The opaque really blend the best with the ceramic brackets and are more sta...

Fun topic. I swallowed one of my spacers...I think. I was eating lunch and afterwords I noticed a spacer was missing so I assume I ate it :D I would've been drinking more to get it unstuck from the back of my throat! That would annoy me. Just make sure you get it replaced. http://tickers.TickerFacto...

Congratulations on the engagement nicholeuf !! I will be getting married next June and will have my braces on. I've posted on other topics about this too. Like most people say, you can talk to your ortho about having the braces removed for the wedding. Or, you can talk to your photographer about edi...

Hey Everyone, I'm the original poster and didn't know this topic would become so popular! Anyways, I wonder about the clear ligs getting stained as well. I get my braces this Friday (about time). Maybe I'll be brave enough to try?! I'm getting ceramic brackets on top, but am looking at getting...

Hey Tin Indian , I hear ya on being nervous. I have a few more weeks to go before brace day (Sept. 15th), but my treatment began back in late February. I had a freak out moment a few nights ago and had a quick panic, but it went away. Reassure yourself of why you are doing this and rely on those who...

Hello I got my pendex (like an expander) out a few weeks ago so I can help answer your questions. However, it depends on what expander you have. Mine had wires glued to 2 teeth (bicuspids) on each side and I had 1 molar band on each side. So here it is based on my pendex: 1. It doesn't hurt getting ...

Jillian, Don't worry. I'm surprised your ortho said he/she would be willing to remove it if it was uncomfortable!! Give any one of us that option and we (I) will go in to get our appliance removed in a few days  Do you know what it was supposed to do? Any appliance in the roof of your mouth tak...

Thanks for the testament Ice! I'll definitely use it once I'm braced.

I never see the tablets in the store anyway, so hopefully since this is a Listerine product it will be easier to find.

I've never seen that one on the boards. Be careful eating pasta or spinach! That stuff can get wrapped around the wire and sometimes it will hang in your throat!! I know from some experience. My pendex looks like a regular expander. http://tickers.TickerFactory.com/ezt/d/4;10732;132/s...

Goodbye disclosing tablets...hello to rinse!

Hey Everyone, I just saw a commercial and thought I'd pass on the info. Listerine has a new product, a Plaque-detecting rinse, that you can use prior to brushing and it will tint the plaque! A rinse sounds better than the tablets. Here is the information. It comes in 2 flavors. http://tickers.Ticker...
